[Resolved]  RTO Mumbai — Taxi drivers on taxi stands not ready to take minimum fares

This is regarding the taxi drivers in mumbai who are very rude.. They are not ready to accept fare from VT to Churchgate and have their own demands of not leaving the person to churchgate. One such silly reason of not taking a passenger is that they dont have change...
I strongly recomend the RTO of Mumbai to take strict actions against all such Taxi-drivers for their rude and stubborn behaviour...
The Taxi drivers do noy even budge to the orders of the Traffic Police officials...
their licences should be confiscated and should be suspended for a suitable period of time (i.e. 1 month or as subscribed in the RTO rules).
I humbly request the RTO to take steps regarding this serious issue which is a nuisance in a city like Mumbai.

are taxis for our help? They are not ready to come to small distance even a way to doctor or hospital.
There should be a law that states a taxi driver should come to any place

i want to lodge a complain against a auto rickshaw driver whose meter was working very fast. his meter showed 61 rupees from ERTL OFFICE(NEAR TO SEEPZ DEPOT) to GOREGAON(EAST) stn via jogeshwari vikhroli link road inspite of no traffic.auto rickshaw no is MH-03 7916..Generally it costs me 40-45 rupees.he even said dat "koi rto ka aadmi mera kuch nahi bigad sakta, main marathi manoos hoon". please check his meter and take strict action him...waiting 4 positive results.
Today on[protected]sunday) I faced a misbehaving act of RTO staff at Bandra reclaimation. I immediately wanted to make a complaint to the RTO head office. Hence I tried to find out tel. nos of RTO head office through MTNL 197 No. Seems they did not have H.O. no on their list hence the operator there gave me tel nos of RTO Bandra, Tardeo office. When I tried to contact on those numbers they were simply ringing without being answered. I contacted traffic police control even they could not hflp me.

I tried to establish contact through internet via google however to my surprise there is no website of RTO Mumbai where I can register my complaint. Kindly let me know how a common man like me can approah higher authorities of RTO to settle their grievences on urgent basis.

Santosh Redkar.
There are good & badly behaved taxi & auto drivers but what is most serious is that a good percentage have tempered meters. Autos with MH 03 registrations have tempered meters to the tune of 10 to 20%. They do it in two ways. Directly tempering the distance reading [easy to identify] or the waiting charge timing.
If travelling regularly have a marker where the meter first "fall" from Re 1.00 to Re 1.10. If it fall early tell him that you will pay him what you pay regularly. 99% he will not argue. But the most serious thing is most have their meter seals intact. This means that they have set the meter extra with the help of "friendly" RTO officers. Spare the drivers; hang the officers.
Here r the number of DCP Traffice Head Quarters which is at Worli 24924732
I hope it will help u
I want to lodge a complain against a auto rickshaw driver whose meter was working very fast, his meter showed 87.00 Rupees from KANJURMARG (EAST) to SEEPZ DEPOT via Powai (L & T) road, inspite of no traffic. Auto rickshaw no is MH-03 Q 507. I have been travelling the same route daily for last 25 years & normally it costs me 45 - 50 Rupees. He was upto using bad words and said that he doesnt fears any RTO personnal and none of them have the guts to do anything to him. Moreover his nasty behaviour was not a fair part of the service provider. It should be taken note the such services are for faciliating the public and not troubling them. Its very hard to have a day started with such a messy talk in the morning itself. I request you earnestly check his meter and take strict action him...

waiting 4 positive results..
Dear RTO officer, I want to lodge a complaint against a taxi driver whose taxi no is MH-01 J 6208 . He rammed into my car which was parked and ran away at fort. He was very rude when he was at fault.. Followed up with Azad police station and they want me to come there and register police complaint . There is a trafficc police right across but no one came forward. Please look into the matter. We have a good online complaint service with private cabs. We should have same for mumbai union taxi drivers.
I do not blame any taxi driver or auto rickshaw driver for their act. We all are corrupt by nature. RTO officers are to be blamed at first. Why do you find vehicles being halted on zebra crossing in presence of patrol person? I have seen number of times that even most BEST drivers do not obey this simple rule. Best Bus when halts on stop, you will observe most of the time that the driver halts the bus exactly in the middle of the road. They just not endanger passenger's life to both aboard and alight passengers but also block the road and this accumulates the traffic in the end. Nowadays, I have observed that many vehicle drivers ride their vehicle in wrong direction and sometime on pavement Why such act happens? Very simple. We are corrupt. RTO officers simply ignores the act and no punishment. Forget about severe punishment. It is useless calling this RTO helpline numbers. [protected]/ 47. They really do nothing at that particular time. Check Dhaval shah complaint. Who will lodge the complaint if we experience no timely action against the wrong deed? My dear friends, we need to join hands and fight against this act by taking this matter to the court against corrupt RTO officers. It is difficult to take each and every taxi driver on task. The government have posted RTO to take action against violation of traffic.
I took a rickshaw from Seven bungalows to Millat Nagar on 24th August 2009, and the rickshaw meter read Rs 35, when the actual tariff is Rs 23. The rickshaw driver was not only reluctant to accept his mistake, but continued to be verbally abusive as well. The rickshaw no is: MH 03 R 7488.
nothing is going to happen...the rto police in borivali hit me and pushed me directly into a rto room for just telling him tht what he caught me is partial and is injustice to normal people...he got so angry tht he slapped me...are alll the rtos bullyin ppl...as a 21 yr old guy from decent family getting hit by an RTO officer...no one looked into this matter even after complaints...on top of tht .. are they allowed to tow from private lanes...rtos here have been doing tht. u cant park anywhere on top of tht no pay n park in thakur village...thus where do we park...always gettin towed they have no remorse..says they wrk for seniors...seniors think of extracting money from me when i meet them...no body can help cause we all are evil from inside...so the ppl who are there for our safety and help are looting us..can u buy tht...
Hello! Dear Sir, I have been visiting in a cab not for a luxury but due to helplessness. While travelling i have very often observed that most of the taxi driver keeps the meter very fast this has been marked in digital meter also. And on the top of this they also keep the wrong fare card which is either from the roadside or union. but not the original yellow R.T.O card. Which for even a nominal distance differs by Rs 7 so just imagine for longer distance it must be charged bombs...which is really penalising especially to the middle class & the helplessones. My Kind request to u is to take action on all this, other wise i wud suggest to make special meters which can be carried by the public to know the correct reading of the fare.
Thanking you,
Concerned traveller

I want to make complaint to RTO against Auto Driver having Auto no MH03 AA8075, who refused to ply from Vakola to S'cruz(E) station on 16th Sep 09, 08:45 hours. Where should I make complaint?
Is there any use of such complant?
Most of the Auto Rickshaws/Taxis in Mumbai do not go to the place where the passengers really indend to travel. For an instance if a passenger wants to travel from Sion Station to Bandra station, none of the auto rickshaw drivers would be ready to take the passengers.Instead the passengers are at the drivers' mercy. As I commute from Deonar to Bandra everyday, I too faced many times the diktat of these arrogant auto drivers. On 30.08.2009 the Auto Regn.No.MH01 BA 4261 refused to take me from sion stn.to Bandra Band Stand .In an another occation on 16.09.2009 at 0800 hrs.I've travelled in an auto (Regn.No.MH-03M-1592).The auto was in a very bad shape to travel .The meter seemed to be defective and seals of the meter found to be tampered.
Please look into this and do the needful ASAP.

RTO — Taxi drivers not willing to ply

Hi
Is it a sin to stay within the limit of the minimum fare of a Taxi Route? I have always noted this. Even on saturday I was carrying a lot of luggage in my hand and was wanting to hire a taxi to reach home. I was at Dadar Station on the West near Visawa Hotel . I did not want to take a bus as I knew that again I would have to walk. I asked 10 taxis to go to Kirti College but none said that they would go. I went upto Plaza but no . Ultimately I had to take a bus. I could not note the numbers as both my hands were full. Please do look into the matter. Is it that they woul not be paid?
I want to make complaint to RTO against Taxi Driver, Regn.No - MH02 R5402 who refused to ply from Bandra to Hinduja Hospital (W) on 09 Oct 2009, 09:05 hours. they dont even feel pity for female senior citizen and even a 2 yr old kid is with you..

face this problem everyday, since I have to tarvel with the kid to drop her to the nursery which is next to Hinduja hospital. These taxi drivers waiting at BAndra opp (mount Carmel Church) always refuse to ply from Bandra to Hinduja Hospital (W)..strongly recomend the RTO of Mumbai to take strict actions against all such Taxi-drivers for this behaviour...
