Hello,

This is to complaint against most of the auto Rickshaw drivers who do not carry the new rate card. Commuters are forced to pay more as per the old card.
I have this specific complaint against Auto number MH12 AU4987, but this is not restricted to this particular auto. The only reason I am reporting this particular auto is because the driver called me a lair and fought with me even when he was wrong. This thing of carrying the old rate card is observed with many auto drivers in Pune. Commuters should check for the availability of the new card before hiring an auto and the RTO should take measure s to confirm that the new rate cards are carried by the auto drivers.

RTO — Auto Meters in pune

I took an auto from rickshaw stand in kothrud For my office at Senapati Bapad Rd. The meter was tampered and generally when I travel to office from home via rickshaw its 6/- on meter which is like 50/- but this time it was 8.7 which is close to 71/-. Although the rate of petroldiesel has reduced but these buggers have not reduced the rickshar fare which were increased to accomodate the rise in price of fuel and on top of it tampering the meter. The auto # is MH12 R 4266. I will be lodging a complain against the guy soon.

Auto Rickshaws in Pune — Charged more than double the actual amount

Hi Sir/Madam,

Last Thursday i.e. April 30, 2009, I had been to the Pune railway station to pick my sister and their children. While I was waiting for them I enquired for Auto from Railway Station to Treasure Society in Pimple Gurav. The autorickshawala said he would come by meter. I was surpised since last month, hardly any rickshawala was ready to come by meter reading. So, we board the rickshaw at Railway station and proceed to our society. We expected that the bill would be 150 rupees maximum since generally it is 135 rupees by rick and we pay some return or luggage charges.

However this fellow demanded 350 rupees saying that the rates have been revised last week. It is 10 rupee per km and he showed us a rate book with Government Stamp.

The autorickshaw number is MH12 4814. I do not recall the two alphabets in it. We argueed with him but then he got wild and got down violently. since we three were females with 2 kids, we silently paid him the amount and closed the matter.

But, we have experienced that they rickshawala over charge customers upto 1159 rupees. Since the new comer is unaware of the rates and distances, they are majorly deceived by these autorickshawla's.

on 3 rd of augest i park my splender in front of a shop in karve nagar the traffic control vehicle comes and take my bike after a long conversation the traffic police man who is so unethical said me give 1000 rs otherwise you will not get your bike back at last i gave him 800 rs i just whant to ask if these kind of things are going than how we can say that we are in a position to lead the world like america.from that incidence i am totally depressed by the pune rto even i had the noc with me.
i had no problem to pay a right fine to the government.

The Auto wala refused to set the meter, and asked 30 bucks extra in advance :(

I lived in pimple sudagar area.Ther is huge problum of riksha wala.My daughter's schcool is 2 km from my home and they asked 60 rs for it.

Please let me know.How and where to do complain about these rikshawalas ?
As all they have monopoly.All will say same rates.
Pune autowalas are thiefs or rather Is should say BEGGARS on motozied vehicle who keep asking for extra money .I agree to what is mentioned above they keep asking for more money . I autowala MH12 QA 5619 asked me Rs 100 extra when meter reading was Rs 70 .
Almost 80% meters of Rickshaws are tampered on Pune roads. We need to have some kind of solution for this. Why should we pay though our nose in the form of increased tariff as well as tampered meters???
I also face one such kind of incident. I want to launch compliant for that, but don't know how to do? The incident happens with me is that the Autowalas set meter by default to 5.0 when I ask him why this is so he replayed that this is rule of RTO because rate or auto get increase & we don’t have new rate card. So we by default start meter by reading 5. This incident happens with me on Shivaji Nagar at morning 6:00 am.

How much this is true?

This is very much true as often they charge extra and I think very few meters are correct.. I see different fares for the same route under same trafic conditions. Very recently one rickshaw MH12 DG 5080 (please take action against this ricksahw wala) meter was highly tampered and the meter was running too fast. I cost me 40 rupees extra as per the meter reading even I got down a few km ahead the spot which I was suppose to get down at as I could not tolerate the meter as it was running very fast. I gave the money to the chor number one but told him his meter is not correct . He played a drama as if he falls down from the sky and dont know anything. This is really annoying . I request that the concerned authority should take immediate action against such rickshaw walas.
I agree to all above comments. Pune autowalas are horrible in their behavior & also the way they speak to customers. Now-a-days they have started new way, they ask for Rs.20 extra on meter charges for any place & specially from bus stops when you are arriving from outstation journey.And if you look at kothrud Big bazar, after 7:30 u won't get any autowala. And if you try to stop an empty rickshaw, they themselves reply that you wont get autos from here to anywhere. If this is the case then why the hell they are on roads.
Is there really anyone to correct these people... I am living from las 2 1/2 years here...but never seen any changes in autowala behaviour atleast in the places of my regular visit.
If there is request you to give me the no. where I can call for these types of complaints.

JUST BEHIND MY COLONY OTHER BIN COLLECTION GUY CHARGES RS 10 AND EVEN IN FILIMNAGAR SOCITY ALSO.

HERE IN JANAKI NAGAR COLONY HE FORCEIBLE CHARGE RS 50.

Autorickshaw non availability — not available auto rickshaws

Sir there is non -availability of the rickshaws in Andheri east and west .Even some are empty they refuse to take to required destination .
many times i have waited one hour for rickshaws
This is a complaint against the auto-rickshaw number MH 12 1478. We were waiting for a rickshaw at Indrayani Corner while this rickshaw came from Landewadi and was going to Mini Market Indrayani Nagar (Bhosari). Two passenger were already be sited and driver asked us to sit also. I and my husband told him that we need to go on other route the way he was going. He said no issues I will drop at home. Suddenly he took the wrong route and when I told him to go straight he turned back and we just avoided an accident. He started abusing me and my husband and left us on the road itself. The ideal fare from Landewadi to Indrayani Nagar it Rs. 7 per person but this person snatched Rs 20 from us threatened us to kill. Can someone please take action against this person?
Complaint against AutoRickshaw No. MH-12 AQ 4661 (Vishrantwadi - Khadki Market). The guy who was driving the Three seater, he fitted 5+1 members in his auto.
The driver was so much abusing the ladies sitting in the auto...staring from the mirror which he had on left side and in center.
Finnaly the time came to pay the money, he was touching the lady so aggressively as if he has never seen any lady.
Please consult where to comlplaint for such horny auto drivers...
I am not originally from Pune. But the situation of the public transport in the City is simply horrible.
I understand its difficult for the Govt. buses to ensure proper coverage, so thats the reason why the load should be equally distributed across all modes of transport.
Rickshaw-wallas are simply impossible

-> First thing, they do not charge by meter!! Why should we bargain when the Govt. has made rules for Road transport? Everyone is aware about this issue, but just act ignorant.
-> Secondly, the rates they demand are simply unacceptable.
-> Thirdly, the rates are demanded depending on TIME, its a rule to charge the customer more, only after 12 in midnight, but here, the rates start increasing after 8 in evening.

It should be ensured that all rickshaw-stands are monitored by cops, and that in EVERY CORNER OF THE CITY, METER READING IS FOLLOWED.

This is my first and last complaint- hope its addressed!
Today morning when I was boarding my company bus at Chandani chowk, I have seen one of the auto owner (MH 12 – RA 7273) is harassing one of family/passenger who looks like an labor. He has charged Rs. 110/- saying reason he travel from Shivaji Nagar to Chandani chowk.

I believe family/passenger who looks like an labor, his whole day income must not be more than Rs. 110/-

That passenger want to go to Mumbai and auto owner ask him to travel to Chandani chowk from Shivaji Nagar.

This is not really good seen, Please can we do something for this?
This is absolutely right. Today morning I took a auto from Sangamwadi to Pimple Saudagar. Even after fixing him by saying that I will pay only by meter at start, he charged me 160 for 13.5 of meter reading which is almost 40 bucks more then asked price. This is the usual scenario every time you take an auto. They don't carry a proper fare chart, always asks for 1.5 time (they call it + half return) and start fighting if we give valid arguments.
This is most common problem in Aundh and Pimple Saudagar area.

Authorities should do something about it. I heard Pune RTO started such activity a year back but that was limited to very few areas and last only a week or two. There should be surprise checks every now and then and they should target all the area including Pimpari Chinchawad.
Commuting in Auto is a nightmare at Pune. They are extremely lousy and the most arrogant and ill-behaved. In places like Baner, they do not ply on meter, stating this is not part of city.
I need to travel from Bund Garden road to Baner every evening for returning from work. 9 out of 10 rickshaw walas cut a sorry face, and give reasons like no petrol, meter has a problem alternatively if you pay half return or additional Rs 30, they are ok.
Why is there no mechanism to control the havoc ? How do we know that the grievances are really read through by RTO.
