Spring Hyundai Service - A cheater

I bought my Satro Xing GLS car (#WB02Z 9012) Engine: MALAA51HR8M274745 from Spring Hyundai (A unit of Cascade Commerce Pvt. Ltd.) showroom at 5 J. B. S. Halden Avenue, E M Bypass, Kolkata 700105 on May 2008.
I did my three free services from Spring Hyundai Service center at 129/A South Tangra Road, Kolkata – 700046. I had taken two more services related to insurance claims too. I was more or less satisfied for all those 5 services.
However, I went for first routine Paid Service on 13-Nov-2009 and I was not only dissatisfied with the service but also I came across a lot of problem with the car after that service. I have never imagined Spring Hyundai Service Center to be so much unprofessional and money squeeze agent and I am really concern how Hyundai has approved them as Authorized Service Center.

Here are the details of the Service on 13th:-

On 13-Nov-2009 in the morning at 9:00 a.m. I went to the service center for some minor clutch problem and also for routine services/checkup. The Service advisor Mr. Nani Debnath took to for a trial run and after that at 9:40 a.m. He recommended the following:
Engine Oil & Filter Replace
Air & Fuel Filter Replace
Brake Checking
Inject Cleaning
Engine Decarobinizing
Clutch Checking
Power Window Checking
Engine Knocking Checking
Poor Pickup Checking
Spark Plug Check & Replace
Silencer Coating

and give me an estimate of Rs. 5500/- and told me to come at 3:30 p.m. on the same date i.e. on 13th Nov 2009 for delivery.

Now during 3:00 p.m. I called up Mr. Nani Debnath from my office whether car is ready so that I can go and pick it up.
Nani immediately reacted saying that Car is not ready and will take another day.

I told him that I need the car at home for some emergency and requested him to deliver that day itself as per delivery timing was given to me.

He then told me that there are a lot of problem in your car for which you will have to pay much more.

I asked him what the problem was.

He then told me, "you must have serviced your car outside and for which they have to work for Sensor problem"

I said, "No I have never done any servicing from outside". In fact I did not get my car serviced anywhere else so far.

Then he said "Your map sensor wire is cut". I did not understand his explanation what was that and I rushed to workshop to see what the problem was.

He showed me a group of wire, out of which one wire is cut. It was visible when bonnet is opened and I asked him why the car will not run as it was running before this service.

Then I told him about desperate need of my car and insisted him to join the wire as it was electrical wire I supposed and promised him that I shall to bring back some other day. I was also ready to pay as all other repair work was done by that time as per him.

Then he said your car will breakdown if they do not check throughly all the sensors and wiring of my car. I insisted why he was not checking it then while I was waiting. He then replied their electrical mechanic was absent that day and promised me to deliver the car next day. He also denied any extra charges in addition to estimation given when asked.

I could not understand my irony of fate during that time for keeping my car throughout the night.

Next day (14-Nov-2009) when I called up he said car was ready. I noticed the fuel indicator dropped significantly but did not pay much attention on that. in the billing counter I was asked me to sign a blank customer feedback form without filling it out as per their usual norm.
I paid up all bills Rs 5530/- (inflated as per estimation given), signed the form and come back assuming all will be OK as before.

Then while on the way to home, I found that car pickup was drastically fallen and car is not advancing as earlier and also as if engine is pulling backward somehow. The more severe problem happens in 4th & 5th gear and pickup was not as much quicker as earlier also it was very difficult to push the pickup beyond sixty. I called up service technician Mr. Nani Debnath on that night itself and asked for some time to give back the car for repairing again after my family emergency is over.

Meanwhile one lady from Spring Hyundai when asked me over phone on during 19th or 20th Nov, I complained about the service. And finally on 02-Dec-2009 I gave the car for re-servicing after talking to Mr Sujit Ghosh over phone on 1st Dec 2009. I also informed the problem to Mr. U. S. Dey, Spring Hyundai showwroom from where I bought the car.

The car was given to me on 3rd working day on 04-Dec-2009 and thanks to Spring Hyundai for not charging me this time.

Yet, after this re-servicing/re-repairing I found that pickup/sensor problem for 4th gear appears to be solved. After service on 13th, the pickup on 4th & 5th gear was drastically deteriorated.
Yet, I am facing problem in 5th gear and after 80 km speed in 5th gear, pickup is not happening properly as it was before and it is taking a lot of time for speed level to increase from say 60 to 100 or from say 80 to 100 in fifth gear. Anyone can feel the same if he/she drives my car.
Moreover, some noise is coming from engine in fifth gear after speed level 80 km.

Please be noted that before I go to Hyundai service center on 13-Nov, there was absolutely no problem with sensor/pickup with the car. A minor problem was there with the clutch. I went for routine checkup as well as for the clutch. Before I go for service on 13th Nov, I went for long drive with my car on 8th Nov through National Highway and everything was OK and I could safely drive upto 120 km speed without any pickup issue.

One paid service from Spring Hyundai has made my car 5 years old overnight though the car has been run only twenty two thousands (21777) kilometer before this servicing.

In this circumstances, in summary, when I went for first paid up service on 13th Nov with some Gear problem and end up with following:-

1. My original problem is not solved. I have to change the Cluth today or any time and pay money.

2. Sensors are replaced by technician and on complain I recovered only one (may be the corresponding to 4th gear one)

3. Introduced new sensing problem in 5th gear. The problem was not there at all.

4. Created a drama by the Spring Hyundai technician by cutting one wire in map sensor wiring so that it helps them to replace original sensor and trying to accuse car was serviced somewhere else in the road. Thanks god car was not serviced anywhere else before otherwise they would have convinced me fully and would create a doubt in my mind.

5. Map sensor wire not repaired though promised to do that by keeping the car overnight. Technician got good time of replacing original sensors forcefully keeping the car during the night.

6. I end up paying Rs 5530/- I could have changed the Clutch as well as the routine service. In return
I will have to Pay the cost in future for Clutch and other problems/replacement (like wire cut) that might have done by Spring Hyundai. Fanastic way generating service business by Hyundai!

7. Wheel bearing of my car were already pressed (damaged) in some places for two wheels but it appears they have corrected by knocking without informing/charging me. God knows whether they have replaced my wheels/bearings too.

8. Decarbonization was absolutely not needed for a petrol car with 21777 km run (Rs 1350/- before Tax is charged for that).

9. Now I am also doubtful whether they have at all changed/replaced with good quality materials the following:-
a) Rear brake shoe - Rs 110/0 charged
b) Wynns Injector Cleaner - Rs 307.24 is charged
c) Engine Oil - Rs 570.31 is charged
d) WYNN Engine Flush - Rs 307.24 is charged
e) Carb Cleaner - Rs 154.65 is charged
f) Moulding - FR BPR Protector LH - Rs 106.46 is charged
g) Filter Assy-Fuel - Rs 153.62 is charged
h) Filter Air Cleaner - Rs 303.62 is charged
i) Filter Assy-Engine Oil - Rs 69.60 is charged
j) Gusket-oil plug - Rs 31.47 is charged
k) Plug Assy-Spark - Rs 207.52 is charged
l) Silencer box Antirust coating Rs 550 and plus Rs 100 for labour charged.
God knows if original one is replaced by any painted old Silencer pipe.
m) Engine Decarbinozing Rs 1250 is charged (whether at all decarbonized or whether required to)
n) Front Brake cleaning Rs 115 is charged
o) Maintenance Charge Rs 750 on top of the above And SErvice Tax + VAT about Rs 493.28 thereof.

During 2nd time re-servicing on 2nd Dec, some other technician not (Nani Debnath) did not forget to check that MAP sensor wiring is cut and recommended for repair. They verbally recommended for Clutch change after a few days.

During first time I saw that Nani debnath opened the bonnet in front of me and checked everything as per Spring Hyundai process. How he overlooked the same thing which can be seen in naked eyes. How the other technician noted second time when the cut wiring is fixed with tape and barely seen.

In this circumstances, I am looking for from Hyundai the following free of cost:-

1.Recommend me another service center to check the quality of Spring Hyundai Service components and quality of fuel given

2.Map Sensor wire replacement with new one

3.Correcting the 5th gear pickup problem by replacing the refurbished sensor with a new or original one that I had.

4.Correcting the engine sound/noise at 5th gear with 80 km speed by replacing the original parts that might have replaced by Spring Hyundai by mistake or intentionally

5.Cash refund the cost of about 7 to 8 litres of speed petrol that was stolen (possibly during cleaning) on 13-Nov

6.Replacing the Clutch with a new one and adjust cost of stolen petrol and the difference of cost of quality of Spring Hyundai service.

Lastly, I apologize for the delay of this complaint. This delay is due to the fact I did not get a chance to drive my car in National Highways where this problem can be checked correctly.
Hope I shall get favourable reply from Hyundai.
