Last year, during a lightning strike my BenQ 21 inch LCD monitor stopped working. I packed the monitor into the original company box and alongwith the warranty and original bill delivered it to Soho Systems, Kannur located near the Govt. Training School so that they can get it repaired. They told me that they will send it to the BenQ service center in Ernakulam and inform me when it gets repaired. After two months I finally get the monitor back repaired, when I arrived for delivery at the shop I was asked for 1500 Rs Cash as 'Service Charges' since supposedly the entire back panel had to be changed and somehow this cost 'BenqQ' money. I paid without much protests as I was unaware of the details.
Now last month during another lightning strike, the same thing happened with the monitor going dead. This time after much research I located the official BenQ service center number, I lodged the complained and after a day somebody from Kozhikode called enquired about the fault and promised to take care of it within days. After a week or so, the guys arrived by train, then travelled a few kms by bus and then finally by an autorickshaw to arrive at my house. They replaced the entire back panel and got the monitor in working condition within minutes. Even after insisting to pay for their travel costs, they didn't take one paisa. This showed that I was clearly cheated by SOHO systems kannur into paying unnecessary charges which went direclty into their pocket. Its a clear case of defrauding customers, especially since I have bought a quite a few items from them in the last three years.
I recommend you avoid these kind of shopkeepers who intend to defraud even their regular customers.
Sincerely
