I have subscribed for the Hindu Newspaper (order No: BG 033291) for a period of 12 months at Rs 333.One of your agents Ms.VIDYA (having phone number [protected]) came for subscription on 5th August and promised to deliver the newspaper from 16th August and a Hindu bag as gift. But i have still not got the gift and after calling for almost every day to Ms.Vidya and Manager Harish (phone no: [protected]) got the newspaper on only 3 days. I am really fed up with daily callings and with inappropriate and irresponsible attitude of Manager Harish and Ms.Vidya.

I urge the higher authority to look into the matter and solve it immediately.Its just too much.

The Hindu is an extreme newspaper! It is extermely well set and readable. It is extremely careful in reporting anything. It is also extremely supportive of communist views.
I continue to read the paper as it provides me information in a conjoint and readable way. On the other hand any views by the editor on anything is highly biassed with a trend towards communism. It is also casteist and pro DMK, something many may not realise Infact I am having to read a newspaper whose views to me are highly useless just because wherever it provides data, that is well set and readable.
Today in the Bangalore edition one of their reviewer is complaining about Kanteerva Stadium tracks and long jump pit being used by various Clubs. Do these fellows understand that keeping a stadium is not for showcasing at meets, it is for producing quality medal hopes. If the stadium is not used for training, which is exactly what clubs do, then why does it exist? Is it for our Hindu correspondent to come and stare and go?

not receiving the paper daily

The people in patamata are not receiving the hindu newspaper daily and also if it comes it is very late.This is the fifth time we did not receive the paper.If asked the supplier, he says he is losing the bundles of paper.

I would like to bring this to everyone notice that a agent by name Devaraj (Cell # [protected]) had collected a Cheque of Rs 444 on 25th January 2014 for a Hindu Bangalore subscription period of 6 months.

Devaraj's verbal commitment for Date of commencement was from 1st Feb 2014, but I haven't received paper till date. Even as per Terms & Conditions, date of commencement should at least start from next cycle (16th Feb 2014) but I haven't received any papers till date.

Is this a new fraud of collecting amount and cheating customers?

Not getting paper

I am getting The Hindu thro' my friend at The HIndu Office, who as a matter of courtesy has arranged it from the Subscription Deptt ( since he was from other Deptt ) and was being supplied thro' the concerned agent of my area i.e., SRI VELAMMAL AGENCY, Agent, The Hindu. I am an avid reader of The Hindu for ages. Well, I was away for a while, and the Agent has abruptly stopped the supply without any one's consent ( either The Hindu circulation / subscription deptt., or myself). The agent has no business to prevent the subscription or snatch my copy. The matter has been brought to the notice of one Ms Amritha of The Hindu Subscription Deptt on 13/7/09 Monday and is being taken up with the RGM Mr. N Krishnan. The service deficiency may be taken note of a nd acted upon with intimation to me at my mail address. Thanks

Sub : Renewing subscription for “The Hindu” news paper for next 6 months.
Ref : NIE-09-10

I would like to bring to your kind notice the following incident to take appropriate action at your end :

I am a Principal of Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ambattur & we have been subscribing money for purchasing The Hindu paper for our students on daily basis. We were your customer for the last two years and we had a bitter experience which I would like to share with you so that such incidents do not occur in future.

As soon as we entered into contract with Hindu representative, Mr.N.Hariharan (Mobile # [protected]) for subscription during May 09, we started receiving papers on daily basis from 8th June 09. The job of dropping the news paper was entrusted to your local agent M/s S.Sudharsan, 46D Oragadam Road, Ambattur, Chennai 600 053 (Mobile #[protected] & Landline #[protected] by your office where the trouble was started by the agent.

They submitted the invoice # 7648 dated 1.6.09 for Rs.27, 094 on 2nd June 09. Actual delivery of newspaper started only on 8.6.09. They asked us to pay for full amount. We assured them to make partial payment initially and made a cheque ready for Rs.15, 000 but they refused to collect. We prepared partial payment because we had one more bitter experience during the previous year. But the agent occasionally used to come to the school premises during school hours and started shouting by using unparliamentary words and also tried to man handle at our lady staff at cash counter by damaging the image of the school and also passing bad waves to the students. As a professional business man, he should know how to behave at the school premises. We strictly advised them to come after school hours but they never used to come after school hours.

Then the matter was escalated to the higher level to Mr.P.Subramanian, (Mobile # [protected]) Regional Manager (Circulation), The Hindu, Chennai and he contacted us in person during the month of July 09. Due to unavoidable circumstances and busy schedule with admission formalities, the undersigned could not meet him. The undersigned wanted to solve this issue with his help by bringing the agent to our school for a talk. But he refused to bring the agent and instead of solving the issue and renewing the business, he advised us to make payment and was not prepared for further business with us. In order to make a full stop to this issue, our adviser Mr.T.Manisekar contacted Mr.Subramanian over mobile to collect the cheque for full amount but he came and merely collected the cheque on 14th October 2009 without meeting the undersigned for solving the issue and getting further business from the school. We felt very sorry for the ugly behaviour and this is only forced us to bring this matter to your attention.

You might have read the above lines and we are very sorry to inform you that considering the above circumstances, we are in a position to dispense with the next subscription for this daily. We want to still give one more opportunity of renewing the contract if M/s Sudharsan Agency apologize for their mistake else we are not interested in going with Hindu and we will decide to go in for some other daily. Your earliest response is eagerly awaited to proceed with further course of action.

I am R.Selvan, resident of J-3, EPF Staff Quarters, LDC Road, Madurai -2. I have subscribed for the Hindu News Paper under annual subscription of Rs.600/-. I could not get the paper nearly two or three days in a month, particularly weekly holidays. This upset my mood. I request the concerned authority to ensure that this type of omission should not happen at any cost in future.

Not received my young world even after paying for subscription.

I am M.Anjaneyulu and I am working for RAILWAYS at Hyderabad. I have subscribed "The Hindu" newspaper on a daily basis 15 August 2008.The subscription offer stated that the customer would receive 180 issues for 180 days by paying Rs.180 directly from the Hindu office by their agents .Thing is that we got the paper correctly till 15 Feb and then an agent came to us and collected 180 for the next 6 months renewal but we r not getting the paper now.If we are asking the agent he is saying that he is not responsible for it ...what to do...?

Accordingly, we must start receiving the newspaper from August first as agreed by their agent.In the first 6 months i didnt receive around 30 newpapers..and when the agent returned for renoviation..he promised me that he will add those 30 papers in the nxt coming 6 months.so i paid 180 rupess again.after 6 months again ..another diff agent came and asking to continue..this time i didnt receive the paper for the last 2 months...i was purchasing the paper outside for 1 rupee after paying 180 rupees for 6 months..i think he is sellig those newspapers .i called the agent name sharma and his superior narendra..non of them couldnt take the action.so plz do justice to me..hoping u do the needful ..that was my address

I, VSV Ramana (bearing residential adrdress as "SIRI-S2, Siri Samapada Aprtments, Dasanna Peta, Vizianagaram-535002, Andhra Pradesh) have subscribed for The Hndu News paper (Daily) from[protected] to[protected] and I have paid Rs.360/-.But I am not receiving news paper from[protected] onwards.There is no responce from the local agent(Vizianagaram) and from the Hindu Office Vizag as well inspite of repeated requests/reminders.
I expect to get justice for me at the earliest.

I am subscriber to the Hindu from last one and half year and I have renewed the subscription for one more year on 27/2/2010. Reader Subscription No is 3013363 and order no is TH 313914.

During the last year my paper agent has not delivered the paper for at least 20 days saying that the distributor has not given him the paper copy. Generally, max missing is on Sundays. While renewing the subscription for this year I made this complaint to the agent who contacted me for the renewal and then he talked to the DGM, Mr Om Prakash, who said that that would be made good by delivering the paper free of cost for next 20 days and after that the yearly subscription will commence.
I have sent SMS to Mr Om Prakash for the last 4 days as I have not received the copy of Hindu.
I have tried to contact him over the mobile ( [protected])but there is no response.
I am unhappy about the attitude of the marketing agency of The Hindu wrt the above incident.

I expect a response at least if not a favorable action.

I have subscribed for THE Hindu daily for six months. My Subscription no is 4045716. In last September I subscribed for both The Hindu, Business line. During the entire period i received the paper only after 8 am. I thought your papers may be late in delivery. When Agent No TH/453045 approached for renewal I told him
I am not interested to go for renewal because of your paper late delivery. He promised to supply the paper by 6 AM. Just based on his promise I have renewed for The Hindu daily but no improvement in delivery time.
When I am trying to contact him he is not even lifting the mobile. Three days back have contacted your Hyderabad office over office phone no. 23403902. one madam, Jyoti listened to my complaint and told me that she will come back after verifying the position. She did not tell any thing. Today again i have contacted asked for the procedure to get back my subscription amount. Again she told me the same answer, she will get back to me. In none of the case she gave me the complaint number.

Is there a mechanism reach the appropriate person to get my balance amount back.
Unfortunately I discontinued my combo pack of Times India and ET.
Please inform me the wayout

I am V. Praveen Kumar residing at patamata, Vijayawada. I have subscribed "The Hindu" newspaper on a daily basis 01August 2010.The subscription offer stated that the customer would receive 361 issues for 361 days by paying Rs.360 directly from the Hindu office by their agents . Accordingly, we must start receiving the newspaper from August 16th as agreed by their agent. But the newspaper was not delivered regularly till now. When I contacted the Hindu office, they said it will be delivered but nothing happened. Later, vexed by the service, I contacted the office and asked to stop the newspaper and send their concerned person to give our money back depending upon the number of issues given to us . One more petty wonder is they stop delivery of paper on sunday because the cost of the paper is more on that day. I was promised that their person would surely come in touch with me.

But on the same day I saw him near G corner at Trichy, immediately I spoke to him and he started telling his problem of not receiving his bill payment from your office and not listen to my problem.
3. I once again request you and your official concern to look in to my problem and to have checkpoint at periodical interval.
4. It irritates me every day morning for waiting to receive my newspaper till 07.45AM. Last Sunday (30.01.11) I received paper at 08.25AM.

One employee of the Hindu, who introduced herself as Ms.Pushpa [[protected]] campaigned for the English edition of the Newspaper at my place. I have paid Rs.499/-, a one year Subscription from 01/02/2016 through Cheque [Order No.119943 dt 23/01/2016] . I have received an official acknowledgement for the receipt through mail. But I am yet to receive a copy of the Paper, even though five days are elapsed. I have not yet received a convincing explanation for non- delivery. To my surprise, to-day my subscription was refunded to me with no proper explanation. I am still at large to know the real reason for non-delivery. A company that trumpets its existence since 1878 does not seem to have time for its customers.

But the newspaper was delivered to us for only 10 days and we are not receiving it since 2 months we have complained about it and we had no response about it..so i request u to check for it and provide necessary action or return the money we have paid for the news paper...

we are distributing agent since 4 months of THE HINDU Newspaper in devarsugur shaktinagar dist raichur karnataka state (agent code 40076).here bangalore karnataka edition comes daily.for last agent they were putting paper at his residence. in the agents agreement copy we requested them to put the paper at our house by transport but till today transport is delivering in a hotel which is 1.1 KM away from our house and the hotel owner is not ready to take the responsibility of newspaper bundles. i request u to kindly take the neccessary action.and make arrangement for home delivery. thank you sir,

I purchased the remote control Helicopter and they charged me Rs 999/- and i was shocked to see a plastic tiny flimsy which is just worth Rs 100/- in the streets. Poorly packed and the helicoprter never flew. I guess they outsourced to other agencies and work without any feedback mechanisms.

I was also cheated by Hindushopping for supplying a defective as well as worthless toy.

But even after 60 days i didnt get my charger. so i cancelled the order. but they are not taking steps to cancel my order and return my money back.. Dear Brothers / Sisters, Please do not shop thru Hindu online shopping ever, they are not meeting to the time deadlines given as per their advertisement, very poor response, not bothered to respond after collecting the money thru online credit card payment, all manned by IVR, you will not get your order in time . I really do not know how the product is, awaiting for the product yet beyond a weeks time from the committed period of order .

PLEASE DO NOT NO EVER SHOP THRU HINDU ONLINE SHOPPING, EVEN IF THEY GIVE YOU FREE PRODUCT.

Hi guys please think twice or thrice before placing an order in this site. I you ask me never ever try to buy anything from this site. I have placed an order for a kids laptop and even after more than 15 days i have not received it, they keep on changing the date of delivery every time i enquire about. This is the worst kind of service i have ever known.

They are very irresponsible and never honor commitments. I am still waiting for a camcorder for 10 days which was supposed to be delivered in 7 days. Every time you call, the same response you get. But I am not getting my news paper till the date i.e 03/09/2008. I have make nearly 20 telephone calls to your Office and also the Sales person Sri K. Mallikarjun. They have not give proper response. Based on this I have stopped my earlier newspaper, this is lot of inconvinience to me . I have seen similar comments about TIMES OF INDIA also .
My experience is similar.
I think the management /staff of these news papers are busy in collecting c hot /latest complaints /news about other companies in INDIA and around the world over .
But their own management styles donot seem be better than than any mediocre company (who donot have much concern for the customer or hts complaints.)

We have been not getting Hindu paper according to the following details despite the annual subscription valid till and through June 2009.

Not delivered on days 23rd and 24th of March 2009
Not delivered since April 3rd 2009 till date[protected].

This has been brought to the paper delivery boy and subsequently to t=the Hindu CRO - Mr. Hariprasad for swift action but in vain. Made several complaints to "[protected]@thehindu.co." by email attaching the scanned copy of the subscription advise but in vain .

We hope that the management takes suitable steps immediately to resolve the problem.

"The Hindu" is cheating on all of its subscribers by not delivering news paper for which one has paid the subscription fee in advance. I am one such affected person. I paid Rs. 180 towards a 6 month subscription which lasts till September 3rd 2009.But delivery of the news paper has abruptly stopped from the end of June 2009.I have tried getting this matter to the notice of the news paper's customer representatives, but it seems they are not taking it seriously. I have already called them over phone many times and informed them about the irregularities but all my efforts seem to be having little effect.

If any of the responsible officials of the news paper is reading this then please get in contact with me as soon as possible and convince me that this is a one off incident and will never occur again. Because I am just going to call one more time, after that if the irregularity still persists then I will not hesitate in lodging a complaint with the consumer forum for cheating and deficiency of service.

Hindu paper yearly subscription is the most useless option. Please do not pay for this. I made a mistake renewing when the marketing person has convenced me for regular supply. I am facing same problem. I have subscribed the HINDU on 6 Sep 2013, order no BG 75898 @333/- for a year. They encased the cheque also but the newspaper is yet to start. I have not received a single copy of the same. They are big cheater. I will move for legal action. they can not simply grab my money. I am not requesting I have paid the money for the service and It's my right to have the newspaper. If any The HINDU person follows this form, resolved my issue ASAP.
The call center seems to have the caller identifier and they retained all my phone number from which I used to call them . Whenever I called from a new number they picked the call but second time they won't pick the call.
