I am writing to bring to your notice the
unreasonable bureaucratic delay and harassments; a
person with physical disability has to go through
at Kalyan RTO (Thane).
I have repaid the car loan taken from ICICI Bank
and following up with the kalyan RTO for the
cancellation of hypothecation of car since March
2011. As per procedure, I have deposited the N.O.C.
issued by the Bank along with the other documents
including original smart card at the kalyan RTO.I
was told that new smart card will be issued within
7 days time. Since then I have been following up
with the RTO officials and still not being able to
get my new smart card.
The RTO officials are giving me the reason for
delay as some software/technical issue and also not
confirming the time frame for the resolution of
issue. They have also misplaced the acknowledgement
issued to me for the new smart card and not
returning my original smart card.
I also approached senior officials at Kalyan RTO,
requested to resolve the issue and also updated
about my problems due to physical disability. But
they have also expressed their inability to solve
this technical issue and also not confirming me the
time for issuing the new smart card. Some of my
friends are of the view that I am facing this
problem because i have not routed the issue through
RTO agents.
I am feeling extremely helpless and not
understanding how to solve this problem?
