Sub: Cheated by UK personel with regards to UK lottery promotion.
Sir/Madam,
My name is Vivek Corda and an resident of Bangalore.
Last year I received a mail from what they claim as UK Lotteries that I had won an amount nearing to 2 crores (calculated in INR) in US dollars and give me some details.
Initially i did not believe, but when the communication started they made be believe things and started demanding money for the transfer of the amount. I even approaced my bank for clarification if any money is required to be paid for any foreign amount and they said yes.
Initially it was only for wire transfer, when i paid they said again i
need to pay some tax amount, then again they said they want me to pay towards some diplomatic certificate and finally when
i paid for all the above they again asked me to pay a huge amount towards non terrorist funds certificate which I refused to pay and started inquiring on the same only to found on the internet and other sources that these people were frauds. I had made to payments to accounts of ICICI BANK, Standard Charted bank as per there mails.
I am trying my best to trace these people and its almost a year now and i have lost all hope. But I still keep receiving
similar mails from other ids about new winning mails.
I do not want to publish my name as this will bring trouble to my
family and more over i am facing already problems from banks from whom i had borrowed part of money to pay for the above.
Please can you advice on whether i can seek help from any of your
department personel on this matter as i am totally broke up financially and me and my family are at risk.
