[Resolved]  Vodafone — Cell info display

All Vodafone customers are vexed with cheap advertisements. I too have the same problem. But I switched to AirTel especially for this purpose.

Even Airtel gives those ads instead of Cell Info...This is legally incorrect...spoke to cust care ...they said it is not possible to hide those ads...

Since last few years I am a prepaid customer of your company. Presently It is a common feature to get disturbance from unwanted phone calls and messages during the whole day and night regularly. I have talked to your customer care operator regarding the issue and told them to stop this immediately. They replied me, to send a message "START DND" to the number 1901 for deactivation of the service.Though I sent the same message to the given number repeatedly but all the times the messages were either pending or failed. One thing I cannot understand that the service which I did not activate how should I responsible to make it deactivate. Hence I bring the matter to your notice and hope you will take the action so that such service should be stopped from your part after receiving any objection from any customer by your customer care operator.

I twice complained with Vodafone MD Asim Ghosh about the cell info display problem. The customer care person who spoke to me says that so far no one has complained to them about this so far! Why don't you guys mail Asim Ghosh and let him and his company know that there are more like me who are really vexed in the manner that Vodafone is using it's cell info display for promoting it's own interests? MY PHONE [protected] WAS SUSPENED WITHOUT INTIMATION AFTER ACEEPTING THE LAST PAYMENT. THE NUMBER WAS PAID ADVANCE RENTAL FRO 3 YEARS. NOW THE NUMBER IS ALLOTED TO OTHER PERSION. CUSTONER CARE EXECUTIVES TALK IN BITTER AND NON COOPERATIVE WAY, SPECIALLY. MR. SUSHANT. AM GOING TO FILE COMPLAINT TO COSNUMER FORUM FOR THIS.

I agree, even I did not see area name after turning on the cell info display, instead I saw some promotion message displayed. Question I have is, are these operators required to provide this info properly as per any regulation??? if not there nothing mcuh that I can do I guess???

I agree. The area information is very important for us. Instead of sending all unsolicited ads, please send area information.

Area information is extremely important for me especially since I am dyslexic cannot find directions and often get lost in new areas. Please TURN ON AREA INFO.
