Subject: Delivery of a defective vehicle Wagon –R DUO.
Sir,
Reference above I would like to bring inform you the following:
1. I have booked a Maruti vehicle Model –Wagon-R DUO (Silky Silver)(M) on dated 07/11/2009 with Hoshiarpur Automobiles (H402).
2. I was told that the delivery will be made on or upto 20/11/2009. However I was called to get the delivery on 20/11/2009.I prepared the draft by loan from SBP and visit the show room.
3. On reaching in the agency I was told that the truck transporting the booked model has gone out of order during its journey to Hoshiarpur the vehicle will now be delivered in next week.
4. The vehicle was actually delivered to me on 23/11/2009. The engine number of the vehicle is 4707487 , Chassis no is 882638 and key no. is 4098.
5. After taking the delivery of the vehicle, while I was driving it to my residence, which is nearly 40 Km away from the agency, an abnormal sound was observed in 1st and 2nd gear speed.
6. On reaching home the matter was reported to concerned officials of agency on telephone on same day and after it again in the next two days.
7. I was advised that some time this type of sound is common in new vehicle and need not to worry. It will get smoothen automatically after a running of few kilometers.
8. However I could not digest the advice and brought the vehicle back to the agency on 28/11/2009 at 11.00 AM. By the time the Kilometer reading on the vehicle was only 382 Km.
9. The vehicle was investigated by the mechanics of the agency, but they could not fix the problem
10. The vehicle was then kept in the agency for through checkup and I was handed over a receipt with a note that abnormal noise of engine is observed.
11. On dated 30/11/2009 at 7.00PM the agency’s mechanic brought the vehicle at my residence and informed me that there in no problem in the vehicle and it is now running smoothly. Before taking over the vehicle I took a test drive along with the mechanic and it was observed that the problem of abnormal noise in engine is still persisting. And delivery person also admitted this thing.
12. I spoke to the owner of the agency, and he told me to send the vehicle back to the agency once again for through check up. It is not understood, why the vehicle was being delivered to me un-attended.
13. I have an experience of ten year with Maruti 800 which was purchased by me from Goel Moters Shimla. And after ten years full enjoying the ride of that I planed to change my car with new one, not from any other brand but by maruti. But now I am feeling cheated as after spending a huge amount of Rs .3.75 lacs of my hard earned money I was delivered with a defective car. For me getting a defective car is as bad as I have purchased a second hand car. For the company like Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., it may be a small thing but for a person like me it matters.
14. It appears that a defective piece has been delivered to me. I surprised that for but purpose PDI stickers are maid on the front of each vehicle.
15. Under the circumstances it is earnestly requested that the defective car delivered to me may be replaced with a new one immediately.
Yours sincerely,
Ashwani Kumar Bansal. (M) [protected]
