[Resolved]  Western Railway Mumbai — Insufficient ladies first class compartments

Address: Maharashtra

I would request the western railway to add more first class compartment for LADIES in the 12 and 15 coach locals. Many of the working women travel first class but are middle aged. Hence, it is very difficult for them to walk till the end of the platform to board the ladies first class compartment. Perforce, they travel in the second class ladies. Moreover, even in the 9 coach train, there are many ladies who have to stand in the first class compartment. Increasing the number of ladies first class compartments at different points in the train, eg, 4th coach, 6th coach, 8th coach in the train.
I request you to kindly look into increasing ladies first class coaches in the Western Railway local trains favourably

Dear Sir,
We are staying around half a kilometer away from the railway track of Ahmedabad-Saurashtra line (Most probably) (Bopal, Ahmedabad). We have noticed that the trains use to pass at the interval of around half or an hour of interval. Mostly all the drivers use to blow the horn for very long time. It disturbs the sleep pathetically of each and every person who stays around it. We do agree that the blowing horn is very necessary but we have observed that these phenomenons have increased within three or four months. There would be some norms and regulation for this, we request you to make all the drivers to follow them obediently which can decrease the stress from both the side as well as it minimize the noise pollution. If you insist we can record the pattern of horn blow during whole night and can send it to you.
With the expectation of your kind cooperation.
Thanks and regards.

Western Railways — Drunkard men travelling in the trains

Dear Sir,

It is rather pathetic that I have to complain about one of my most trusted public transport.
I have been travelling by western railways since 9 years i.e since school.
Recently I have encountered men travelling in the ladies compartment.
I have been using the 5:40am and 5:51am trains from Dadar station (MIDDLE LADIES COMPARTMENT)Zto travel to work.
It has been three weeks that i have used these services,to my surprise every week atleast once I have been chasing men out of the train.
In the first incident I noticed a couple with inappropriate behaviour I asked the man to leave the train but he would not budge at Dadar thats when I tot to approach the policemen at approaching station Bandra, as expected there were none,I had to raise my voice and thats when that got down.

In the second incident (the second week) two different families entered the train at Dadar well again I had to intervene but this time I had a fellow passenger supporting me.Surprisingly they were educated fools who never wanted to get off the train we did end up with an argument.

In the third incident (today 6th Apr 10) we had a surprise guest that is a mad drunkard old man entertaining us,he entered the train with two policemen trying to chase him out interestingly the policemen were off at dadar itself, it was a proud moment for the madman who hit on jig, started to smoke a cigarette, took off this toy mobile with our fellow women passengers really scared to death.
I looked around to try and locate for the emergency number. There is none posted in the new trains.A lady an me tried to locate the police at bandra irritated there were none thats when a good samaritan from the adjacent compartment came in and pulled him out of the train.During the scuffle that man was hurt.(Thanks to the clear view that men in the adjacent handicap compartment get)

How annoying, that railways being one of the most trusted mode of transport can get on your nerves. I travel sometimes with only two women in the train and now I am scared.
If madhatter can enter the train how difficult it would be for terrorist to enter the trains.
I no more have any trust in the Indian Railways, being a women I DEMAND security from the railways.

ELSE GIVE ME COMPENSATION BECAUSE I AM LITERALLY CHASING MEN OUT OF THE TRAIN.

I WANT ACTION AGAINST IT.
I READ THE COMPLAINS POSTED BY OHER GUESTS WHO TRAVEL WHO HAVE NOT RECIEVED ANY REPLY IN MY CASE I WANT A PROMPT REPLY.
at Borivili station East on 26th Jan 2011 at 5.45pm, i alighted from a train, i was coming from Mahim and had puched my coupon their Mahim station at 4.50pm but the time indicated 12.50 thus the TC at caught me, seeing a lady requeste me to come to office and then inquired with mahim station if the machin was not working, during the time that this was being checked at mahim station i was asked skill and uncessary questions buy this Agra based TC seeing a lone lady, he was in his 30 s and not displaying the name at that time. trying to be pally and dirty.

would i expect some action on such goons manning public dept responsible positions !!!

Dear Sir,

I would request the Western Railway to add more first class seats/compartment for gents in the 12 and 15 coach locals.
There are no ticket inspection during the peak hours of the day. Many ticket less commuters and 2nd class ticket holders are travelling in 1st class and the original 1st class ticket holders have to wait for hours to get in. This is a very pathetic situation. Kindly depute TT in front of the fist class coaches when the trains arrive on all stations between Virar and Dadar from 7a.m. to 10 am & 6p.m. to 9.p.m.

I request you to kindly do the needful as commuters in first class coaches are increasing day by day in the Western Railway local trains.

With best of regards and respect for giving uninterrupted services. WR. Mumbai

Mathews.
We are a group of ladies who regularly take the local train to Virar station, Mumbai departing Marine Lines station at 5.22 pm for Dahisar. We wish to place before you the difficulties we experience in alighting from the train which reaches Dahisar station, Mumbai at about 6.15 pm. Before we can even step off the train we are ambushed by the crowd waiting on the platform to board the train. This results in violence and injury making train travel very hazardous, for everyone - including senior citizens, pregnant women and the vulnerable.

To prevent such a situation may we sincerely request you to do the following:
1) Make repeated announcements in Marathi, Hindi and English, on the Public Address system at Dahisar station to allow passengers to alight first, before boarding.
2) Make announcements stating when the next train from Borivali for Virar, is due at Dahisar station. This will help as passengers tend to listen attentively to announcements. It will reduce the desire to board packed trains from Churchgate.
3) Appoint female Railway Police Force (RPF) personnel to keep the rush in check outside the ladies compartments so that no one is harmed, till such a period as the crowd becomes orderly.
4) Increase the frequency of trains from Borivali to Virar, at peak hours, to ease the stress of passengers.

We would be grateful if our suggestions are carried out as early as possible to ease the distress experienced in local train travel on the Western Railways, Mumbai.

Neelam Kshirsagar
I travel regular from Borivali to Vapi by Ferozpur Express leaving Borivali at 8.10 AM. It is always held-up before Virar station as a MEMU for Dahanu is scheduled to leave Virar around the same time. This Express lag behind the MEMU till Dahanu, as it halts at every station. Even though the passengers are charged at Express train rates, it doesn't perform like an Express train. The timing of either of the train has to be re-scheduled as soon as possible as passengers are facing a lot of problem due to the regular delay of Ferozpur Express. The Trains are delayed also because of the Railway crossing just after the Virar station. The work of Over-head Road has to be completed at the earliest for the convenience of lakhs of troubled passengers. The Railways has increased the Fare considerably for the betterment of Services to the Mumbaikars. And, these initial steps taken at priority basis would really help the lot. Also the Fast Up-line near Borivali Station, is much congested to cross over to platform no.6 and 6A as there is no enough additional track due to lack of space. This issue also must be sorted out at the earliest.

Kumar P
I would like to request the Railway Authority to “Add” one more first class compartment for ladies next to luggage. This would save us from risking our lives and avoid the daily routine of boarding over crowded virar train. Day by day its becoming next of impossible especially for the senior working ladies to board the virar train either in general compartment, luggage compartment and even first class compartment which is as it is insufficient. It is therefore requested to comply with our suggestion and fulfill our request on urgent basis.

Regards
Mrs. P.Nair
There used to be starting train from Vasai at 7.46 which was andheri slow train and now all of a sudden it has been changed to fast train till andheri. This used to be very convenient and not much crowded.
It actually doesnt make any sense in changing that train to fast local. Because of this it has created so much nuisance and trouble for the people who want to get down at stations like kandivali, malad, goregaon... There are no slow trains during that time and the ones which are running are so crowded that it is not even possible to get inside those trains...
Request railways to please look into this issue and increase slow trains from virar to andheri or bandra during 7.30 - 8 am.
Or please change again 7.46 vasai -andheri local to slow train.

Appreciate your help in this.

Regards,
Troubled Traveller
the train that comes in bhayander 8.30 am in that from starting 5th coach 3rd gate the people who make group are not allowing people to come inside in train they pack the gate & if people try to go inside they beat them & trying to push from running train. So please Sir catch that grouper who pack the gates.
I hope sir u ill take an action fastly against all group people who pack the gate.
i think railway operations manager dont have any logical thinking because he never thinks about how to utilise the existing trains to its full strength, because making the train of 11.55pm borivili-virar now changed to borivili-nalasopara what is the logic in this idea? after a long time there was some hope for atleast 1000 people that between 11.50pm- 12.15am there is one train to virar that is also now made nalasopara this shere ridiculous step. just think about it whoever concerned, otherwise just see the virar train after that how packed inthis time of night. dont enjoy by sitting in the office.
SUBJECT: Request for additional Ladies First class compartment in all 15 & 12 coaches trains coaches trains
Dear Sir,
We are ‘Regular Passengers’ in Western Railway First Class compartment. Firstly we want to thank you for introducing new 15 car (coach) trains. Sir, but we want to bring into your knowledge that there are some difficulties while travelling by first class and want to mention some of them as below:
1.Introduction of 9 car trains : March 2, 1961
Introduction of 12 car trains : Year 1986
Introduction of 15 car trains : Nov. 21, 2009
In 9 car (coach) train : Ladies coach, No. of II class: 2 & I class: 1
In 12 car (coach) train : Ladies coach, No. of II class: 3 & I class: 1
In 15 car (coach) train : Ladies coach, No. of II class: 4 & I class: 1

2.Railway Pass fair for First Class is almost 3.5 times more than that of Second Class. During peak hours, the condition of both the classes looks same, both fully crowded. For all slow local trains i.e. Virar to Andheri (Up & Down Locals) the condition becomes horrible.

3.There is no ticket inspection during the peak hours and many Second class ticket/pass holders travel in First Class & Genuine First Class ticket/pass holders have to face problems to get in and out.

4.Day by day crowd for First Class goes on increasing & the space available is insufficient. Specially for Senior Working Ladies it is hard to board in First Class coach during peak hours.

5.As per the new plans introduced by Western Railway The Vasai Ladies Special Timing (9:56 am) is too late, almost after peak hour (7 to 10 am), so kindly arrange to make it earlier(preferably between 7:00 to 8:00 am or 8:20 to 8:50 am).
Kindly do the needful & increase one more First class Ladies Coach in any of the middle compartment of the train (i.e. 6th, 7th or 8th No. Coach) . Special request is that do not keep the new ladies first class on motor man side. It should before 9th coach of the train.

Neelam Sawant
The local train which leaves from Byndhar Station at 0804 to churchgate is a horrible old train as half the fans in 1st class do not work. its a torture to the 1st class passenger who pays from their pockets and travels. 1.please do not put old trains for longer distances. 2. please ensure that daily there is TC in 1st class compartment as most of the 2nd class people travel in 1st class. 3.railway employees who are not eligible also travel in 1st class.

Also the above train should be brought to the station by 0750 as there is a heavy croud for this train. people push and pull and fall. please ensure a comfortable travel for mumbaikers.
