I had placed an order for Kids laptop as publisided by The Hindu newspaper on 07 April 2010 vide order no. HI[protected] and was informed through the site that the item will be delivered in five days. It is already 22 days since my order and the information is still "Ready to be Shipped". This is not acceptable by any standards. Further, the site does not have the courtesy of informing the customer through email or telephone the cause for delay and the anticipated time of delay. I have already written complaints on the site on "Register Tickets" vide ticket no CNT[protected] dated 22 Apr 10, CNT[protected] dated 20 Apr 2010 and CNT[protected] dated 15 Apr 2010. The status of my order has still not changed. After getting no reply for the status of my order I had requested that my order no. HI[protected] be deemed as CANCELLED and the amount which was promptly deducted on 07 April 2010 be credited back to my credit card. I booked thru web on[protected] for Nokia 6220C phone, which was well advertised on right top cornerof the Mobiles section of www.thehindushopping.com. My payment of Rs.12, 094 (11, 999 + shpg cost
95) was thru. I got SMS alert from HDFC and amt has been debited to my card a/c. But when I checked
MY A/C in the said web portal, I noticed that order has been cancelled with out any intimation from
portal. We keep on calling theindianplaza.in at Bangalore, who is powering the web portal, at the given
contact numbers. They first told me that order is cancelled, my refund was also made thru on
[protected]. Then they started telling me that they are not able to do the online refund. Hence requested
time for manual refund on 07-07. After that they informed me they haven't rcvd the payment due to some
technical snag and asked me to check with my banker for the effect of payment. I gave them my credit
card statement as well in the as it is PDF format, as I rcvd from HDFC. On 09-07, I forwarded the credit
card statement to the indianplaza/blr. They asked for 2-3 days time. No information rcvd. Again I
contacted them y'day, they are again asking for 2 to 3 days more to sort out the issue.
But you will be wondering that even at this time 1900/[protected], the advertisement for the same phone
with 40% off, is there on the Mobiles section of thehindushopping.com. I have learnt a lesson not to
trust these web portal for any online purchase. It is always better to go show room to get things done.
Pls take care about these real cheaters...
