In addition to above there are many defects in these vehicles, which I kept on informing, him time to time.
1. Front & Rear shockers are of very bad quality. Even at a small hump it becomes very difficult to control the handle or operate light and indicator switches.
2. Brakes are of very bad quality. Changing brake shoes did not result in any improvement. It becomes loose within one week. Front brakes are still not working properly.
3. Indicator & Light buttons are of very bad quality. They were replaced three times in a span of 1 & half year. Whereas in my other vehicles I never found a need for change of buttons in more than 7 years.
4. Horn does not sound properly.
5. Headlights are of very poor quality. They do not beam in right direction. You cannot see odometer as well while traveling in night.
6. Puncture repairing – During the time of purchase, I enquired from Dealer about the replacement of wheel in case of puncture. He said that it easily comes out and you can get its puncture repaired from any roadside shops. I insisted him to show me demonstration of getting the wheel out but he kept on lingering it and started making fun of me. He said that he can send the mechanic anywhere for puncture repair. But I found that no roadside puncture shop is ready to put off wheel. They either refuse to do the work on this Yo-Speed or just try to fix the puncture keeping the tube inside the Tyre. Even the service center mechanics are not capable of doing that. They don’t even have proper tools for “pucca puncture”. For one puncture it took me 45 minutes to get it mended from the service center mechanic & that mechanic did not even pull out the nail, which caused the puncture and it resulted in three more punctures. When I asked mechanic to find out the nail & pull it out, he instructed me to stay outside and told me “this service center is not for puncture repair!!!!!”
7. Even the company supplied tool kit is not sufficient to take the wheel out!!
Harassments & Embarrassments: -
1) I spent Rs.35,500/- for a junk. This vehicle was sold to me using unfair means by showing extra-exaggerated ads and pamphlets. (Enclosed as annexure A3, A4, A6). The major attraction that it saves money is not at all correct.
2) My spouse used this vehicle and had to toe it many times because o[censored]nexpected less mileage. While toeing, it becomes a fun stock for others for no faults of ours. It causes a big embarrassment that you spent Rs.35,500/- and became fun stock for other passersby’s . Sometimes it had to be carried on a cycle rickshaw and paying around Rs. 70-100 /-
3) When it got punctured the rider especially female had to face a very tough time. There is no support from the dealer as claimed. There are only two mechanics and both of them are not good at work. Besides, they are not available after 5 PM & on Sundays. The company-supplied toolkit is not sufficient for pulling out wheel.
4) Many times it happened that rider went at a place trusting on the specifications given by the dealer and had to charge the vehicle at his place & wait for hours to get it sufficiently charged wasting own as well as others time & becoming unwanted guests for them.
5) Whenever I reported the problem to dealer he kept the vehicle for 6-7 days. Every time I had to arrange alternative sources for traveling and spending money, whereas the vehicle was purchased for saving the money. Every time after delivery performance never improved.
6) Dealer kept on making fun of me many times, as I had to visit his shop again & again for getting it repaired.
7) The bad quality front shockers results in pain in wrists of the rider and also makes the vehicle vulnerable to accidents. It is difficult to operate indicator buttons due to bad front shocker.
8) The headlight does not beam in a right direction.
9) Horn is the only thing by which you can make felt its presence to passerby but improper functioning of Horn can lead to accident.
I kept on informing the dealer about the problems verbally many times. I gave him written letter thrice. Third time he plainly refused to give me receiving of that letter. The company has done two rounds of revamping of the vehicle and replaced certain parts free of cost. The cycle of these two rounds of revamping shows that how bad quality equipments were installed in the vehicle. In Jan, 08 a letter no. 50 dated 30-01-08 from Mr. Pathak AGM (Sales & Spares) was given to all dealers instructing them to replace certain parts. This exercise indicates that there were many defects in these vehicles, which were sold. It is also questionable that how the vehicle having too many defects was allowed to sell? It is during this exercise that my rear shocker was replaced. Earlier on my complaint about rear shocker, the dealer kept on making fun of me and never attended my complaint. I still doubt how many things were to be replaced as dealer did not divulge me the details about this exercise. Also at the time of revamping the mechanic gave me a call at 3 pm and asked me to reach by 5pm or pay Rs.2000/- to get it changed later on!! I had to rush to his shop from my office in Patiala to get it done.
Surprisingly another round of revamping was done in March, 09. The necessity of these revamping cycles indicates the bad quality equipments’ presence in the vehicle. But more surprising is that even after these rounds performance of the vehicle did not improve at all.
Another complaint was filed as case no. 30/2008 in the same Honorable court, against the same dealer by the consumer of the same vehicle. There are many complaints filed by the consumers of Yo- Speed on many consumer forums over Internet. One such complaint by the customer of the same dealer is also enclosed at annexure A10.
Prayer – It is the earnest prayer to Honorable President that as the vehicle was sold to me by giving wrong promises and documentary proofs, which never matched the specifications and facts and caused harassments to me, the dealer Shree Ram steel traders should be ordered to take back the vehicle and refund me the full amount Rs.35,500/-along with compensation of Rs. 50,000/- for the harassment and mental agony me and my family had gone through.
