By this complaint, we are bringing to the notice the deliberate acts of fraud and cheating at the croma store at pusa road, karol bagh. To further aggravate the problem one manager, mr. Vinod, who initially took up the responsibility to address the issue, uttered deliberate lies and mishandled the matter. His superior, ms. Taruna makhija, refused to listen or to receive the written complaint or to resolve the matter.
On 20.05.2020, we approached croma store at pusa road intending to purchase a oneplus 7t mobile. The salesman at the counter, mr. Mohd. Anas quoted the price to be rs. 37, 999/- for the particular model and told that there was a cashback of rs. 1000/- if the payment was made through sbi card and he confirmed about the same by telephoning some of his superiors. He stated that we had to book the phone by depositing rs. 10, 000/- in cash and thereafter the phone would be requisitioned from the warehouse for the next day and on making the full payment by sbi credit card, the cashback would be extended e and the deposit of rs. 10, 000/- would be refunded in cash. We made the deposit by withdrawing the money from the nearby sbi atm.
The next day i. E. On 21.05.2020, when we approached the croma store, some other person had been manning the oneplus counter who confirmed that the phone had arrived from the warehouse and took us to the payment counter. However at the payment counter, on our asking about the cashback, the person concerned refused that any such cashback was payable. When we confronted them, they had no answer. Mr. Mohd. Anas had been contacted over the phone but his phone was lying switched off. We asked for an action against the erring employee who had deliberately made the false statement to cheat us and wasted our precious time. At this juncture, one person, stated himself to the highest rank official in the store, took up the matter and assured to take action. However he made us wait for more than 20 minutes and whiled away time. On our repeated inquiries, he came and started pressing into serivce lame excuses and pleas. When not satisfied with his reply, he had been requested to give complaint book but he flatly refused and asked to do whatever we could and became argumentative. He even refused to disclose his name. Some other person disclosed his name to be mr. Vinod. We borrowed a paper and wrote the complaint but mr. Vinod flatly refused to receive the same or give an acknowledgement.
In the meantime, we had been told by the person manning the counter of oneplus that the said vinod had falsely claimed himself to be the superior most official at the store and in fact one lady, whose name was later on disclosed to be ms. Taruna makhija, was the head of the office.
When the said lady, ms. Taruna makhija, was contacted it had become apparent that she was acting to defend the falsehood and her erring employees. She read our written complaint but point blank refused either to take any action or receive the written complaint. She stated that it was the policy of croma not to receive any complaint. Apparently her ears had been filled by said mr. Vinod and she acted on his advise. At that time, the said mr. Vinod again came there, tried to create ruckus and used threatening language against my son.
Having left with no option, we were constrained to come back with a note of caution that we would have to resort to legal action.
Had we been not careful, the cashback would have never been credited to us and the store would have been successful in cheating us.
The persons at the store are all mixed up and the customer service has takes a back seat when their nefarious designs get exposed. It was only our diligence that saved us from the fraud, otherwise we would have endlessly waited for the elusive cashback, with no document to support our claim.
