Dear Sirs,
I am writing to express my disappointment with the length of the ADU Academy courses that I recently completed. Specifically, I found the AFF course to be 15 hours long and the PSCRB course to be 12 hours long, which I believe is unnecessarily lengthy for the amount of material that needs to be covered.
As a busy professional with other commitments, I found it difficult to carve out such a large block of time to complete the courses. Furthermore, I feel that the courses could have been condensed without compromising on the quality of the education. I believe that much shorter courses with more focused content would have been more beneficial for professionals such as us. In my opinion CBT (Computer Based Training) courses for professionals covering refresher material should be no more than one hour long.
Additionally, the feedback which I have heard from fellow professionals is that most of them had their relatives / friends filling in for them online, just to go through the time content. This is extremely concerning, as it suggests that the length of the courses may have been a barrier to genuine refresher learning for many students. I believe that this further highlights the need for more streamlined courses that are focused on providing quality education rather than just fulfilling time requirements.
Moreover, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the feedback questionnaire received from the academy conducting these courses. The questionnaire was extremely biased and did not provide an option to put negative feedback. This further reduces the credibility of the feedback collected and suggests that the academy is not interested in hearing genuine feedback from professional students. Please see screen shot below.
Unfortunately the email ID from which the feedback questionnaire was received is [protected]@aduacademy.in, so I cant even respond to them directly!
While I appreciate the effort that went into designing the courses, I believe that the length of the courses could have been more carefully considered, and the feedback questionnaire should have been more comprehensive and unbiased. As a professional working in the International arena, I expected a high-quality education that is both comprehensive and efficient, with an opportunity to provide constructive feedback.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback, and I hope that you will take it into consideration for future course design and feedback collection processes and forward it to the concerned team.
Sincerely,
Capt. Cherag Daruwalla | Sr. Marine Pilot Gorgon Marine Terminal Barrow Island | Chevron Australian Business Unit
