To, The M.D.The Durgapur Project Limited, Durgapur-1Ref : My letter dt. 18.03.15Sir, I, Sri Keshab Ram Mani, am the owner of the building at A1/17 Sahid Sukumar Banerjee Sarani, Bidhannagar, Durgapur-12. It is a residential cum commercial building built as per the plan approved by Durgapur Municipal Corporation. Residential portion is used by me and my family members consisting of my widow mother aged 74, my wife and daughter (5 months old)and brother is a psych (Mental) patient. Since the very beginning i.e. the construction having been completed permission Power Connection was obtained domestic and commercial purpose things were so long going on smoothly and electricity bills were being sent to my name as per the above address. There had been no occasion of any default on my part as I have been very methodical in making the payment of the electricity bill on due date. But my utter surprise (it was a shocking surprise if I can say so), on 28th Nov, 2014 domestic connection was disconnected by DPL staff. They put a sticker bearing no.R0010176, DPL on the meter box.A still bigger surprise was waiting for me. Even after all these, DPL sent the bills for the disconnected domestic line. I made payment thereof to avoid any further complication. But nothing happened in my case. We claim we are in a Civilized Society and citizens of Democratic Country. How true !!Subsequently, I meet the officials of DPL several times for rectifying the matter but to no avail. None of them paid any heed to me any refused to help me out.Nett result is my five month old baby, my old widow mother (aged 75yrs.) and brother is a psych (Mental) patient are the worst sufferers in this hot summer. The contours of the situation as explained above demand immediate action decidedly different from taking no action on my letter dt. 18.3.15.Sorry to say it reinforces the popular perception that DPL management in absolutely callous about the consumer’s mischief/distress. As things stands now I beseech you to please either reply to my letter or allow me an interview to explain my side of the problem.DPL is an ISO certified company and it is beyond imagination how they could act so in human. In fine, I may say, I have waited long enough for remedy but the authority concerned felt face to ignore my letter and send it to this waste basket. Sir, are you listing to my painful appeal? If not, I take it that you have no answer to give and therefore I am being compelled to go to court/legal step/consumers’ forum for redressal of grievance (after 7 days receive my letter in your office).Yours faithfully, Keshab Ram Mani (Consumer No.-122194 & 122188)Editor Cum Reporter Of Ajana O Jana, (RNI Degn.
