In consultation with the executive at Interior Design Studio, Fabindia Vipul Golf Course EC, purchased upholstery and curtain fabric.Spent 3-4 days on finalizing the fabric. In all 13 curtains of ~ 9ft and 4 curtains of ~7ft custom-tailored by the store. All the handloom curtains have gone out of shape / the length has increased even before the first dryclean.
If the fabric was not fit for curtains then why was I advised to go for it?
I wrote to fabindia regarding the same. "We are truly sorry we will be unable to take this forward, " was their reply!!
This Kind of response is not expected from the global Company.
All the curtains are touching the floor in my house.
Are curtains meant to be used only for a year?
The other curtains that I purchased from FabIndia are exactly size even after the same period.
I also purchased 7 ready-made curtains, which are also of the same size before and after.
When other curtains are doing fine after a year then why only these curtains are increasing in length?
They were not advised correctly by the team as the fabric is heavy and stretchable.
I could not judge the heaviness of the cloth in the sample book.!!
Fabindia keeps the small sachets in the Sample Book for picking up fabric for curtains. But their advisers should know if the 9 feet curtains can be made out of the thick, stretchable cloth. Me and my family have been buying from FabIndia for the last 30 years or more. They can very well check the records, after they have gone digital.
I expected a better resolution from such a successful company. But alas!!
FabIndia needs to accept the product defect and should refund fully.
It looks like it is the end of association with a company I grew up with.
Thankfully, there are more such hand crafted, pure cotton, linen products available in the market these days!
