I ordered a Faber Hood Chimney through Flipkart on May 13 (Order ID: OD[protected] and got the product delivered on May 15. The model I ordered was FABER HOOD CLASS PRO PB BK LTW 60. As a layman I trusted the images provided by Flipkart which displayed the suction vent for this model as SS (Stainless Steel). However when the product was actually received the vent was black in colour. I tried to reject it on the doorstep (since this was an open box delivery) but the delivery executive advised us to request a return through the app & some other guy will come to pick up the product. He left our premises with the return assurance.
Later I raised a replacement request on Flipkart on May 18 but the Flipkart team did not entertain my request and rejected it saying that the product is only available in black colour. I then raised a return request on the basis that 'product description on flipkart website does not match the actual product. The Flipkart team again rejected my plea without giving any rejection reason. The Flipkart team asked me to contact the company for any problem with the product as they mentioned it under '7 days service centre replacement' policy. The executive on customer care contact no. asked me to contact the company/service centre for any product related query and that Flipkart is not responsible for the same. They failed to understand that for return/replacement of product due to incorrect description/images given by the Flipkart website, the company cannot be held responsible (unless it is proved that company has shared incorrect pictures of product with Flipkart). The replacement request was again raised on May 22 & this was again rejected after 2-3 without mentioning the reason. I checked it on May 25, which was the last day to return the product.
I have attached images of product ordered vs. the image displayed on the Flipkart website. Invoice is also attached.
I tried to contact the company's customer care team who informed me that this product is not manufactured with SS vent and that Flipkart has shown incorrect images of the product. I tried to get in touch with the company's customer care to return the product but they said it has to be done through Flipkart only. Now I feel completely deceived and frustrated with Flipkart's action and response to my grievances (The company has been delaying and rejecting the return request only to reach the last date of returning the product). The product has been lying packed in the delivery box at my residence for nearly 14 days. Since the product does not match my requirement, I would like to return the same.
Hoping to get a positive response for my issue.
