May Fair Lagoon Bhubaneswar — Exorbitant Charges of Cold Drink

A few days back i went a few of my friend to a renowned hotel here in bhubaneswar,Odisha namely May Fair Lagoon.
We had asked for cold drinks there.The waiter gave us a can of Thums UP which had rs.22 as the MRP whereas the Hotel charged rs. 80/- each for each of them.On that other taxes such as VAT & Service Tax were also added.
When asked, they gave arguements like , 'Its a 5 star hotel' and 'Service Tax doesn't consider taxes on cold drinks' were told to me.

What i want to know is , is it the right way to charge a can of cold drink at such an exorbitant price and also charge service tax & VAT on already taxed items?
