Sundaram Coffee Works — Manipulated/ miscalibrated weighing Machine

Address: Tamil Nadu

I've been a regular customer of Sundaram Coffee Works (T.Nagar branch). Their weighing machine has not been calibrated for more than 6 months or may have been deliberately manipulated to weigh 10 grams less than the actual weight. I had pointed this out on many occasions but no attempt has been made to set the machine right. Yesterday I bought 1 kg of coffee (two 500 gms pack) and I lost about 20 grams. In spite of me pointing out that, the shopkeeper did not bother to ensure he has given me the right weight. The shop is in Usman road in T.nagar and considering their high volume of sales (assuming if they sell 1000 kgs per day, they would have gained 4 kgs of Coffee by cheating in weight which is worth Rs. 390 X 4= INR 1560 in a day or 30 X 1560= INR 46,800 in a month) they would make at least Rs.50,000 illegally per month. Consumers, please wake up!
