[Resolved]  Fraud by Somebody from Delhi — Asking for Credit Card Details Over Phone

Today I got a call from[protected]. The caller(she) informed me that she is from ICICI Bank. Also said that the banking is sending new card and blocking the old card. The new card will be with higher limits. To do that she asked me give the details like card "valid from" and "valid upto" details. She also mentioned that she is not going ask the details like cvv number etc as the banks will never ask most important details. But I am not convinced, that she is genuine and she is from ICICI. I refused to give information and asked her to send a mail (from her official mail ID ) to my registered mail ID. Then she disconnected the phone. Few days back I got a call. He identified that he is VISA ( not noted his number). He asked me whether I am having a VISA card or not then he was asking the colour of VISA Logo to confirm that I am a genuine card holder. I refused to give the information. The reason for making complain here is that some body (Govt Agency or Bank) to take up the action against this person. In the second case, I am not able to give any number. Where as in the first case the land line number is given. I think, with that number, you can identify the culprits.

I have also got call from[protected] said Redeem points has been lapsed during 2012 for ICICI credit card.. now there is possibility of getting some free products for to redeem of already lapsed.. by just say the current address.. dont share the details for card or anything like that.. Said his Name is Raguram then I asked Employeed ID: EC104962

I also got the call from[protected], she said that she is from axis bank, my credit card points lapsed... she is going to offer free products for the lapsed points... they are fraud callers...

Today I got again from [protected] and says she is from Visa. She is aware that I am having a card of particular bank and she is also aware my name & date birth. She was asking me to confirm the last 4 digits of the card, date of expiry and date of issued. This clearly shows that the data from the banks is going to wrong hands.

I got call and said he is from XXXX Bank as I am having a credit card of that particular bank. He was saying that the reward points on my credit card are expired few months back. He said he will revive the same as I am not aware and the bank has not brought to my knowledge. He asked me to tell the number of my credit card to confirm my identity. I refused & not given the card number. He was mentioning that card number is not a important information, as we are giving the card to the merchant from swiping the same. He says only CVV number is important. I don't understand how these people are getting the information about credit card.

I got a call from +91 [protected]. He said he is from master card and asked for color of credit card logo. I wonder how these frauds gets our mobile number. might be the credit card agencies sharing or who know bank may share the information.

I got a call from +91 [protected]. He says he is speaking on behalf of Master & Visa card and informed that my name was selected for free gift worth of Rs95000/-. But need to pay Rs9999/- towards service tax. The same can be paid using my credit card and asking for DOB and card details etc.

I do received a call this morning 29th Nov, 2015 and a lady called me saying she is from credit card department. She said based on my credit card scores they have some good offers for me which will expire in 10days. Now her next question was whether I use VISA Or MASTER card. I said I've both. Then she asked what is the color of the logo of my VISA card. I was surprised by her question as I didn't understand what use of asking color of the logo. I than cross questioned her why you need that. She replied to ensure you are the genuine customer. Then I asked where your office is located. She replied in trembling voice.. in New Delhi. I asked where is in New Delhi... Then she said I can't share.. Then I asked why.. Tell me your complete address.. Then she drop the call... I Then called back but it didn't connect. The Number she had called was +[protected]

A friend of mine got a call yesterday regarding same.
Can any body tell me what are the correct steps in case my friend provided those details to them.

We need to know whom these Fraud no to be forwarded, these calls keep coming now and then !!!

I too got a call from number [protected]. He was asking me color of logo for safety, then explained me gifts & lastly asked to pay 8000+ rs as a service tax for government. When I refused to pay single Rs he disconnected the call.

Jesus christ! i too got a call from fraudsters asking about the clour of the logo on the card, i was in a hurry and i told them the colour.
I called the bank customer care later and asked about the help, they replied "the fraudsters can't do anything with the colour of the logo, next time don't share anything with anyone."
what do i do now? should i block my card just for the precautions? please help.

Same Caller, The number is +91 [protected] . Asking for color of the card and reading a continuous script. Report all fraudsters.

I received a call from[protected], caller shivani, she said I am from HDFC bank and on the HDFC credit card you are using, there are few extended service that you can avail.She wanted to confirm me whether the logo on my card was Visa or Master in term if colour. When I asked that I will not tell her details and prefer to confirm any details over IVRS she disconnected.
