Funeffect Electronics Private Limited — Complainant for selling products on amazon without bis certification

Sir/Madam,

I, Ram, had placed an order on Amazon.in for purchasing a Bluetooth speaker of BRAND NAME-FLORID, sold by M/s FUNEFFECT ELECTRONICS PRIVATE LIMITED having GST no. 23AADCF5793P1Z1 at the price of Rs. 699/- on 19th October 2021. ASIN NO. B08533TDQ8. A copy of the invoice is hereby enclosed. I had received the product (Bluetooth Speaker: - Florid Star 22) on 25th October 2021.

While using the Bluetooth speaker Florid Star 22, I found that the Bluetooth speaker is not functioning well and the battery backup is not performing well as provided in the information mentioned on Amazon.in. and when I checked the product carefully, I found that this product (BLUETOOTH SPEAKER MODEL FLORID STAR 22) has no certification provided and also there is no BIS mark and number printed on it (neither on the product nor on the packaging).

The product is also not up to the quality standard as prescribed by the BIS. I tried to contact the vendor (M/s FUNEFFECT ELECTRONICS PRIVATE LIMITED.) for the information but the contact given by the vendor was fictitious and fake too since nobody replied on that contact no.

That this product might be not safe because of the cheap quality battery and could be harmful as the quality standards are not up to the advertised and promised specifications. The question arises how this product got imported without any quality check and BIS approval and how Amazon did not check and verify any certification before providing such malicious companies its platform for selling cheap Chinese goods without any quality check. Since as per the regulations of BUREAU OF INDIA STANDARD, any device which includes BATTERY has to be compulsory BIS approved and the BIS mark and number must be printed on both packaging and product and this company M/s FUNEFFECT ELECTRONICS PRIVATE LIMITED does not provide any BIS MARK AND NUMBER neither on speaker nor on the packaging.

Therefore, I request you to kindly check, enquire and provide the BIS Certification of BLUETOOTH SPEAKER MODEL FLORID STAR 22 sold by M/s FUNEFFECT ELECTRONICS PRIVATE LIMITED having GST no. 23AADCF5793P1Z1 and prevent/restrict M/s FUNEFFECT ELECTRONICS PRIVATE LIMITED having GST no. 23AADCF5793P1Z1 to sell any products on Amazon platform till M/s FUNEFFECT ELECTRONICS PRIVATE LIMITED provide original BIS CERTIFICATE. The accountability and responsibility of such companies which are selling fake, cheap Chinese products on such big and trusted platforms must be questioned and it is Amazon.in’s duty and responsibility to prevent and restrict such companies to sell any fake, unapproved products on its platform.
