[Resolved]  General Motors — Poor Workmanship at GM Service Stations : India

1. I own an Opel Astra car [1598 cc MPFI Petrol GSI Jul 2003 Model]. 2. Due to poor workmanship, nearly every repair work done by GM on my car results in breakage of a repair-related part; thus inflicting avoidable financial loss and hardship on me. 3. Issues: a)Serviceable AC Switch & Thermostat changed; b)Clutch Wire broke after Clutch & Pressure Plates replacement; c)Front Left Axle broke after shock-up replacement; d)Central Locking and Rear Left Window made unserviceable during 20 Apr–03 May 12. e)Rear Muffler damaged during 09–18 Jun 12. f) Coupling joint between Rear Muffler end and Intermittent Pipe erroneous welded, thus mandating replacement of both parts. 4. Cost of avoidable repairs: Rs 30, 292/= (+Rs 35, 201/= for repairs awaited). Repairs worth Rs 61, 746/= done. 5. Unresolved snags in car: a)Missing from Engine; b)Noise from Engine on pressing Clutch; c)Rear Left Central Lock and Window inoperative; d)Rear Muffler End & Intermittent Pipe connecting muffler and Catalytic convertor need replacement; e)Noise from front on turning the steering. 5. Relief desired: a)Rs 30, 292 /=, charged towards avoidable repairs may be reimbursed to me. b)Current snags in my car (listed in Para 5 above) may be rectified at the company’s cost.
