On 15th aug, 2018, i paid a token amount 1 lakh inr for booking a 2 bhk in tower 2 of godrej emerald project, situated at gb road thane, maharashtra. The token amount was paid through a card swipe. Due to personal reasons the next day i. E. 16th aug, 2018 which is barely 18 hours of paying the token amount i expressed the need to cancel the booking by calling up the sales representative over a telephonic conversation. I followed it up with an email as well in few minutes to the sales representation. I was asked to come down to the booking site for a face to face meeting on 18th aug, 2018. During the meeting, a senior executive told me blatantly that the token amount will be forfeited upon cancellation. I would like to understand the draconian policy which the builder is applying to forfeit someone's hard earned money even though the cancellation request came in 18 hours. I am certain that the unit will be sold to someone else post the cancellation procedure and godrej will be in profit not only by getting the price of the only but also forgetting my money. It's the consumer who has to suffer the loss due to a change of mind due to circumstances. I would request the appropriate authority to take notice of this case and assist me in getting my money back.
