I was using hdfc credit card no. As mentioned above. I received a statement from hdfc stating that i have to pay renewal charges. However, i was given to understand that same was life time free. I asked for documents on which i consented for such charges, however, hdfc bank failed to provide me any such document.
Charges were levied in the statement of october'15. As such charges are imposed on me without my consent, i stopped using credit card immediately.
I even requested them to waive off such charges in order to continue with the relationship, however, no cognizance was given to my request also.
After lot of email exchanges on the issue, i decided to surrender this card. To my surprise, same card was being offered to other colleagues free for life time. I cross checked with them again and it was confirmed to me that it is lifetime free. If required, i can provide name of personnel who have got same card lifetime free.
On 23rd december'15, i wrote a detailed letter to hdfc bank whereby surrending credit card and attaching diagonally cut credit card.in my letter i requested for noc as well as i have paid for all transaction made by me.
Through sms, i got acknowledgment of letter and after 2 month i even didn't get the statement.
When i applied for other credit cards, i was told that my cibil rating is low due to some issue with hdfc credit card. I contacted hdfc back through email in july'17 and i got email from hdfc confirming that credit card has been successfully closed and there are no outstanding. Afterwards, i requested them to get my cibil rating corrected and since then i am continuously following up with them but there is no response at all from hdfc bank.
I used hdfc bank credit card for more than 7 years and never defaulted on any payments. However, such unilateral and biased strand taken by hdfc bank was never expected.
