I am really frustrated with hdfc bank. I am a doctor (General physician) and i have a salary account in hdfc bank. I decided to take 'hdfc freedom' credit card but when the envelope arrived i was surprised to find a different card: 'solitaire card' i didn't required this card as it didn't fit my requirement. When i asked why this error they said madam you are a woman and this card is good for woman. Who gave them right to decide what is good for me or not.
I asked them to cancel/deactivate this card immediately which they said they will do after an application. I wrote the application and thought the issue was resolved. To my horror i received an email for annual fees of another credit card (Again solitaire) which i never received physically by mail. I don't even know the card no. Which the bank believes i have and am supposed to pay the annual fees for them.
I have taken multiple rounds of the bank and the still the issue is not resolved and the branch manager is saying that i need to pay the annual fee for the card (Which i never received and used). I am surprised with the callousness and attitude of bank and it's employees.
Just wanted to share this and hoping that some one higher in authority will read and resolve this issue. Else i am soon going to request my hospital to change even the saving account and close hdfc account for good.
