Hi, i am vijay salekar from mumbai.
On one fine day i got call from hdfc credit card team to offer credit card for life time free of charge. Before submitting documents, i clearly informed them about my above term (Life time free of charge credit card).
After submitting documents i received credit card at my door step without any verification call from hdfc. I was bit surprised hence i called hdfc credit card customer care to check hidden charges on the issued credit card.
I came to know that this card is not free of charge and it is chargeable at annual fee of rs. 500/-. I politely ask them to deactivate the card for which they informed me to send a letter to their chennai office as per their standard process. Afterword they suggest me to opt below services to avail life time free of charge credit card.
1. 3 retail transactions in 90 days
2. Register card for products like smartpay, one assist, payzap etc.
I have few question to hdfc.
1. Why do not they deactivate credit card on email or phone?
2. If false commitment is on their part, why they do not take up this with the concerned agency?
3. Why does hdfc need customer to make a call and beg for the deactivation of the card when mistake happened on their side?
I hereby informing to hdfc that neither i am going to call nor sending letter to chennai office. If i will get charged for the credit card i will lodge a complaint in consumer forum.
