Hi,
I had to transfer amount of 10200 cad for gic purpose (Canada) and initiated the process. Initially i went to hdfc branch which is located in technopark of trivandrum. A person by name shibu told me that the wire would be risky and asked me to try online. I did tried couple of days and got an error email. I went back to shibu and showed him the error email. So it almost took 4 days including the weekend. So ideally 4 days of mine is wasted because of the hdfc employee. I was still patient. I went back to shibu tulsidharan with my cheque and asked him to file gic through wire transfer. He gave me a form to fill and passport xerox was also taken. He gave me few of the previously applied gic applications to ease filling the form. That's when i realised people had filled it manually earlier and he has handled these cases before. He still wasted my time asking me to do online.
I was still patient. This happened on 30th september 2019. I asked him to file the application on the same day since it was really urgent to me. He denied saying he is busy today and will be doing it the next day. He did filed the application on oct 1st'2019. Total amount of 557000 was deducted from the account along with 1100 commission. Evening i got a call from shibu saying the application is on hold since the name in passport and account is different. He wasn't even aware that the name has to be same even after handling so many gic cases. I was still patient. 2nd oct was a holiday. I gave him a call on, 3rd october asking about the status. He says he has requested for the refund and it is in process. Its 5th october today and i haven't got back my amount, neither my gic is processed. Everyday he says something new saying he has requested treasury for the refund. And not even sure when the refund is happening. Everyday he says it will be done by eod and there's no update. During my conversation with him today 5th oct he mentioned saying today is saturday i'm not sure if they process. Why not? Saturday is a working day for the employees right? Also, 7th and 8th oct is a holiday. I haven't got my money back neither i'm able to file gic. I asked him if i should apply for name change as per passport yesterday 4th oct he said that's not required he would take approvals and get it done. And today 5th oct he says you have to apply for name change. I have had such bad experience with hdfc i would not recommend it to my friends and family going forward. I am very frustrated with the process and the customer support executives. He is a manager of a bank and is not able to communicate to me in english. Please take this escalation and let me know when i would get my money back? I have already wasted my 2 weeks and next week also since the name change will take 3 working days. I make sure this reaches all social media and people are aware about this.
