[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — inability to address customers issue with updating phone no. in bank's records

I had changed my phone number 2 years back and since then i have dropped 5 letters to the hdfc to update the number for the credit card account in their records. Even after repeatedly dropping the filled forms and letters, the bank is unable to do it. I got frustrated at this and called the customer care (Contacted them countless no. Of times and all they say is that my relationship manager will call me which never happens. She is somehow always on leave. After 4 to 5 calls to customer care, someone calls up and says my relationship manager is on leave and they are calling on behalf of her; but the point is - the issue prevails) and informed them that i want either the no. Updated or would cancel the credit card and also checked with them on procedure for credit card closure. Its funny that the procedure for closing credit card is also same as phone no. Updating and they asked me to drop a letter. I did this too diligently last week. Guess what, the same thing continues. They have not received my letter!! I dont know where the hell are my letters going to. I dont know how am i to get out of this trouble. All my otps are going to a different no. And the bank officials do not care. God forbid if something goes wrong!! I am sure bank will not take any responsibility if such a thing happens. There is no way i can close my card account unless they acknowledge the receipt of my letter which they wont. I hope atleast after this complaint, the bank officials will look into this seriously.

Thank you consumer forum for helping me with getting my issue resolved. Hundreds of phone calls didnt work, but with one complaint on your website, I could let a sigh of relief :)

Thank you HDFC. I would have appreciated if the issue didnt have to come so far and if you could have taken my complaints seriously and worked on it. I hope you would consider my feedback and improve your services in future.
