My salary account (In HDFC bank) was created in my company xxxxxxx and now my salary account in HDFC bank has been converted to savings account (Without informing me) and hence I had called your customer care and raised a request to close my account as I did not want to use the account and they did say that they will follow up with the request and close the account. After that i never logged in to my account through net banking and no transactions have been done till the date. I logged into my account for some reason on[protected] and I see that I have Rs. -6501(-ve) in my account.
According to the RBI, A bank does not allow the balance in a savings account to go negative due to imposition of charges for non-maintenance of minimum balance and if any bank continues to debit charges on a savings account creating a negative balance, customers can approach the banking ombudsman.

And since currently I'm in Visakhapatnam and couldn't come to your branch for any assistance in closure of my account. Hence I request you to kindly waive off the charges and help me in closing my account as early as possible. Expecting prompt response from your end. Was this information helpful? |
