I booked american airlines travel tickets for me and my spouse to visit usa using my hdfc credit card on 25th feb 2020. The value of the tickets was rs.2, 61, 536/- for the planned trip in april 2020. This credit card transaction appeared in hdfc card statement dated 17.03.2020. The total dues of this statement was paid on 04.04.2020.
Due to the prevailing coronavirus pandemic we have cancelled our travel and requested american airlines for refund of the ticket value. American airlines had confirmed that two refunds each for 130768.00 inr were refunded to my hdfc master card ending in 8965 on 28 april 2020 and requested me to contact the bank/card company. They also provided the reference number a-152349ae-d1c5-4f06-b8c5-225e21a65bb6, for this transaction in order to track the refund. I have written mail to my hdfc bank relationship manager providing the transaction reference and he confirmed me that mail was sent to the concerned department to expedite the refund amount. It is already been more than 20 days passed and i am yet to receive the refund amount in my hdfc bank credit card.
I have no other option now except to lodge a complaint for the abnormal delay in posting the refund transaction by the hdfc mastercard to my credit card account. I am losing heavy interest since it is a high value transaction. May the concerned authorities look into this and arrange immediate posting of the refund amount in my account?
