ICICI Prudential Life Insurance — Premium paid in advance not added to fund value

I was sent a message to pay my premium in advance and get advantage. Hence I paid my premium due in Dec in advance in Oct. It is still not added to my Fund value and the call centre said two weeks back that it would be added to my fund value in 2 days. But when asked today, 26th Oct, they say that it will be added only on the premium due date. Why was I sent a message asking me to pay in advance and get advantage? Is this not cheating?
