India Post — delivery of item

My item was supposed to be delivered on 03/01/2020. When i checked on website, the status showed as out for delivery. Though the whole day i waited, nobody called me. At evening i called the postman after getting his nunber from post office. He said in case of passport he will not call and will deliver the next once i remind him by calling him next day. What kind of professionalism is this where the recipient has to do so much to get item delivered?

My item with ID no: RE[protected]SE had been dispatched from DIMC according to the tracking service on the 13th of December, 2019, but it still has not reached the next station and there is no update from there on the website on the same. Has my package been lost in transit? Or is it still reaching the post office?
