India Post — Service tax on premium of postal life insurance

Hi,
I don't why but Post Office has started imposing service tax on premium of Postal Life Insurance. I think no other private insurance company are charging service tax on premium of a any policy. In fact when I asked the post master when why they are charging this, even he had no explanation. As a government organisation I think post office should stop such activity. How come they can impose service tax @ 15% to the customers on life insurance premiums?
