Jyoti Raghavan — Encroachments on public space.

Encroachment on pavements by hawkers is a menace which is growing with each passing day & this menace has spread its wings in Dwarka in the past few months. Dwarka is supposed to be a no-hawking zone but lots of hawkers selling fruits, vegetables, chai, chhole-bhature & barbers, ayurvedic davakhaanas etc. are mushrooming on the pavements & flourishing. MCD officials have turned a blind eye to the menace as they are being bribed by these hawkers on a weekly basis. As a result of these encroachments, there is no walking space left on the pavements & people are forced to walk on the streets exposing themselves to the speeding traffic. Complaints in this regard to Mr.Ramratan Bharadwaj (AC, MCD, Najafgarh Zone) & Mr.Deepak Mittal has been to no avail as they kept passing the buck. The only route left now is to file an RTI. Hope someone is reading this & doing something about it.
