1. I ordered a book Nani Palkhivala : A Role Model [HB] by Maj Gen. Nilendra Kumar on 5th May 2022 that was shown available on the website of Law-all.com- Ajit Law’s Online Bookstore, based in Pune.
2. Till 10th May there was no update on the order nor any communication from the website. Hence, I contacted on the contact number provided on the website and he was told that he would be updated in 5 minutes. Thereafter I did not get any phone call from website’s end. Whenever I made an attempt (total 13 calls from my end for which I have a log) to reach on the mobile number given on the website and there was no response, and I terms it as “wilful avoidance of communication” on the part of the concerned persons from Law-all.com – Ajit Law’s Online Bookstore, based in Pune.
3. On 12th May at 6:12 am I sent an email requesting an immediate refund of my money that he paid at the time of booking the order.
4. I got email response on 13th May 2022 at 12:36 PM saying that the order got “cancelled” and reversal of the payment was initiated. By the time this review is posted I am still waiting to get back his money.
5. I am immensely curious to know what kind of system is being used by Law-all.com that takes more than 92 hours for customers to get back their money…….
6. Website that boldly advertises “they are open for 24 hours” this behaviour is completely unacceptable.
7. It would nice if the owners respond specifically to the above facts so that all future customers would be at ease while transacting with this website. Till then those who go through this review are smart enough to conclude what they should.
Now a few observations during this process:
1. On google review there are reviews like
- “Polite service by staff”
- “Drinking water facility, sofa for seating arrangement is given”
- “Nice place, you will get all law and banking books”
How online customers are supposed to experience the above things? In the process of getting “managed FIVE-star reviews” they have done away with common sense. And the customers who have posted reviews referring to my case, to them they are saying it is a misuse of google review system (sic!)
2. Today morning I google searched the same book “Nani Palkhivala: A Role Model by Maj Gen Nilendra Kumar and in top 5 searches Law-all.com appears on the first page. When I checked their website, they are still showing the book as available. Which means even today they are going to collect money in advance from customers who are not aware about the “reality” and use this money without interest and make them suffer to get their money back.
It is not an act of deceit? I would like readers to decide for themselves.
3. Is it not an illegitimate act on the part of an ecommerce company to collect money from a customer by showing a good available which they know for sure that it is not in their stock? I would like some lawyer to throw a light on this subject.
4. The owners of Law-all.com have removed my review from google reviews as they found it gaining support with other customers who were checking it before placing an order on their website. They just want to keep “managed and favourable” reviews with Five-star. I don’t’ know if google wants to be party to such an act…..
5. Is there any authority which could help customers redress such issues quickly and take an appropriate action on such ecommerce entities?
