I always book my travel from makemytrip. There has never been any issue booking from makemytrip. For my trip to bali, this year also i booked my flight and hotels from makemytrip.
However, this time i booked a hotel for 3 nights and later decided to cancel the booking (Only to book a better deal that too through makemytrip). The booking amount was usd 194 and makemytrip charged me inr 13, 089 with the on-going exchange rate. No problem with this. When i later cancelled my booking - which was applicable for 100% refund - i did get a refund. That too on time. No problem at all. However, the only funny thing was that the refund was of inr 194 and not usd 194 (Inr 13, 089). Could have been a system error - as most of the things are automated now days.
Well i called up makemytrip with my issue - i expressed my concern and got a response that the system is down. Next time (Shortly after coming back from my holiday), i decided to put a formal complaint through mail - so as to have a record of the complaints. So, to start of with i just asked for my refund status. I got a response that the refund has been made and i was also given the details of the refund of inr 194. I then escalated the complaint that this refund should have been of inr 13, 089 (Usd 194) and not inr 194. I was then asked to wait for 72 hours so that they can check and process the complaint. Well, there has been no response since then. It has been over a week now - more than 168 hours.
No response - no refund.
My questions to makemytrip is - do you want your customers to be following up with you everyday on complaints? When you ask a customer to wait for 72 hours is that at least 72 hours with no upper limit? Will i be given a refund only when you have earned a considerable amount of interest?
