I had recently purchased the MacBook Pro 14inch on launch day 29 October 2021 from the Maple store at Powai, Mumbai India by pre ordering the same on 20th October 2021.
There was an offer on the AirPods Pro which was as below:
1. 15% discount since I purchased the laptop
2. 4000 rupees buyback for my old AirPods Pro
3. 2500 rupees on HDFC card purchase.
When I was at the store I was recommended to go for the beats studio buds because of which I decided to think and research if I should go for AirPods Pro or Beats Studio Buds. I had very specifically asked will the offer still remain and I was told yes. This was on the same day 29 October 2021.
On Sunday 31 October 2021, after a long travel almost (1 hour 30 mins one way)I reached the store to avail the buyback facilities that were on going on laptops, iPads & AirPods.
When I told them I have made up my mind and wanted to purchase the AirPods Pro along with the above mentioned offers they tell me the offer no longer exist and apple is giving us an extended 2 years Maple warranty which made absolutely no sense. Why would apple give a maple 2 years warranty.
I am not sure what is going on in that store but I had faced a similar issue with my purchase of the iPhone 13 pro max in September where I was told I would get immediate cash back the day I purchase my iPhone 13 pro max when I would give my old iPhone after checking. On the day of purchase I was told since it was launch day and since I would need to transfer my data from my old iPhone to the new one it would take time so I should try to come on Monday to which I refused since I wouldn’t get leave so I would need the same by Saturday max Sunday. Do note here as well I was communicated something and delivered nothing. On Sunday I get told that now Maple has changed the offer and will now check the phone and transfer the money with in 7 days. To which I was really angry because again there was a total commute of 3 hours and this wasn’t told to me on day 1.
Because of this issue I had to sell my phone outside. Then why the fake offers, why the commitments when nothing is being delivered.
If it had happened once I would have let it go but this is the 2nd time within a month. It just feels like the representative do not want the customers to avail the offers and keep confusing them by giving them some weird schemes and then they come back saying the offer has changed.
Do note while their site says there is a 10% off on the AirPods Pro their Powai store person directly states the offer is no longer applicable and APPLE is giving a 2 year Maple warranty.
Being honest from the day I wanted to buy the AirPods Pro with the schemes that was mentioned their representative was reluctant to give it to me and was making up some or the others excuse and was selling me the Beats Studio. And on 31 Oct 21 when I asked him if the offer was there and I mentioned the schemes to him he first agrees and then comes back saying the offer is no longer available in a matter of MINUTES.
The representative then spoke to the store manager or someone I am not aware but that guy seemed to be very arrogant. When the representative asked him can’t anything be done cause we had already committed to the customer that guy says “We can’t do anything the offer is no longer available”.
RIDICULOUS is not a word to describe the CHEATING that is going on in that POWAI store.
They are very sweet to talk to but they CHEAT you with their schemes and then all of a sudden the offers change.
How does this help me after I have made a purchase. I would have gone to a Aptronix whose offers don’t change once a product is purchased.
I am really very disappointed with this experience and would definitely not recommend Maple to anyone especially if they want to buy any products based on some scheme which is nothing but a SCAM.
I had lost my chance to buy the Airpods Pro at 15% discount in spite of buying the products which as per Maple I would get after purchasing a new apple product along with the above mentioned schemes because of the store representative.
I would really want the offer that I was eligible for because this is a complete loss for me cause the others like Aptronics are giving much better offers which I would have gone for otherwise.
I have written to them on mail but have not gotten a proper reply. I have replied to them on 8 Nov 21 since then I have not got any reply from them. Neither is the MD Manil Shetty of Maple bothered nor is their customer service representatives since they have received their money.
I would want justice in this case.
