Sir,
Most respectfully, undersigned, the owners of various shops o[censored]&V Pocket, Block ‘B’ DDA Market, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi – 110088 would like to draw your kind attention regarding opening of a Meat Shop (Shop No. 5) in this market.
2. In this connection, it is humbly stated that a shop of the similar category has already been operational for quite some time. Since, the shop is located in the front side of the market, it does not create problems for the commuters. However, as per the information received, owner of Shop No. 5 is also constructing a Meat Shop, which is located at the inner side of the market having very narrow passage (approximately 5 to 6 feet) and also facing residential flats and does not have proper sewerage and ventilation facility. Furthermore, since the location of the shop is a passageway to most of the people of the Society, most of them are vegetarian, the smell of non-vegetarian items will create additional issues.
3. In regard, you are requested to kindly check whether this particular activity is permitted at Shop No. 5 since the shop is situated at inner side of the market. Further,
The MCD has also initiated an action against unauthorized meat shops. Norms stipulated for obtaining meat shop licenses includes proper concrete room space, ventilation in shops, good hygienic condition, fresh meat, low bacterial count of the table surface where meat is trimmed and processed and proper waste disposal system with valid shop. However, most of above norms could not be justified due to location of this shop.
3. In view of the above, it is requested that necessary action may be initiated to stop the construction of Meat Shop immediately. We shall be highly obliged for this act.
