Good morning and greetings from bangalore.
I would like to introduce myself. I am dr praveen kumar gs a consultant biochemist resident of bangalore.
My grievance is specifically against an ngo in karnad, mulki, dakshina kannada district of karnataka. It goes by the name momina foundation run by an individual by the name of asif. I happened to see the board there during my brief stay for a period of 2 days. Its called momina foundation apathbandhava situated at karnad, mulki, dt dakshina kannada.
Let me narrate the incidents for a broader picture.
I happened to visit mangalore city to collect my 10th marks card in duplicate which i had lost recently. I checked into a hotel on 16th november, 2019 at blue star, balmatta, mangalore city. After dinner i took rest. Next day being a sunday i could not go to my school being a holiday. I thought of taking a early morning walk.in the process, i lost my cell phone and purse to a few miscreants at market road mangalore on 17th november, 2019. I was sad and pathetic. I did not know where to go and also seek help from.
I continued to stay outdoors in a sad state of mind till 21st november, 2019. I crossed into the bengre area seeking consolance. A few youths there inquired me about my sadness and helped me with rs 500/- for which i am grateful to them. Meanwhile a police beat vehicle called sagar 16 arrived and took me to the panambur police station. I was inquired about my whereabouts and i informed them that all my documents were in hotel blue star and since i have lost my purse, i am not in a position to go back and check out.
The station house officer then drafted a letter which i have in my possession handing me over to a trust called apathabandhava foundation and to an individual by the name of asif.
He came over and escorted me to his so called ashram by the name of momina foundation located at karnad village, mulki, dk district
I was taken care of regarding food and shelter. After a couple of days, i had no option but to mention the name of my dads cell number for help. Asif called my dad and said that he will hand me over at my residence at bangalore in his ambulance. The charges will be around 12k
I said i can go by bus after collecting my luggage at the hotel and shall refund whatever are the charges later. However, he did not listen.
On 23rd december night 9 pm we boarded an ambulance which took us to ilkal village in bagalkot istrict. There was a dead body in the ambulance along with relatives of the deceased. They were muslims. I couldnt understand the logic as to why go to ilkal village and then to bangalore. He dropped the dead body and relatives at ilkal village at 9 am the next day after which we proceeded to bangalore. We reached our residence at 8 pm on 24th november, 2019. The scene was horrific with my parents and brother abusing and insulting me.
Asif collected the transport charges of rs 14k from my dad and left immediately after taking a few pictures.
I hope you can understand what i am trying to highlight. First of all the exorbitant charges he has collected and secondly my bag was still at the hotel which i checked in on 16th november, 2019
I checked various government and non government website regarding asif's trust registration but nothing was available online. I suspected his credentials as his actions were obviously fake and intentional.
Kindly lodge a complaint from my end or kindly redirect me to the exact procedure.
I have lodged a complaint in the police website of dakshina kannada upon arrival. There has been no response so far.
