We had purchased a necklace set including earrings in the year 2016 from the reputed m p jewellers (Assam). Before also we used to buy jewellery from that same jewellery. It was unused and due to some reason, next year i. E 2017 october, we have decided to exchange it. And went to the shop for exchange and we accordingly exchanged the set with a new one. N ofcource we were aware of the fact of paying xtra making charges for the new one and accordingly we paid n they told us that the re exchange policy is available for the next 24 hours after which if we make an exchange, we have to pay the making charge again.
As we belong to a different district, we went back and after 2/3 hours, we changed our mind and decided to kept the old set instead of the new, then we immediately called them and said that we wanted to re exchange it and next morning before 24 hours we will arrive in the shop to make the exchange, and they also agreed and assured that we don't have to pay anything and simply make the exchange. But next day when we arrived, they said that we can take back the old jewellery which was also in a pathetic condition, and the reason they said behind this was that due to dhanteeras, there was a huge rush in the shop, and that's why all old jewellery items were kept carelessly above each other due to which the set was in bad condition. Then also we sticked to our decision and said that that's okay, we ll still re exchange the new one with the old. But then what they said was shocking that we could have the old one but have to pay the extra money i. E the price of the new set either in cash or card. And at last, out of no way, we kept the new set with a huge loss because it was impossible for us to pay for another set worth rs.90.000/-.
Its a shame to see such a reputed jewellery shop cheating the customers in such a way. Its okay to buy jewellery from these shops, but before buying think twice and thrice, because the exchange policys of these shops are very complicated and tricky.
