P K Singha — Ac split 1.5

I have purchased above ac on 24.01. 2010 .as of date ac do not do cooling .complained with customer care.mechanic came and reported that compressor is not functioning. It may be repaired or replace with new compressor. Is it correct that in 7 years the compressor became obsolete? It means we have done wrong to purchase samsung product.
