A Ladies Hostel in t-nagar, was running without approval and registration. With due respect I beg to bring to your kind notice the following few lines for your favourable consideration. Our hostel has become a nightmare for all o[censored]s. The 30 + students living there have been experiencing a lot of troubles. There is no arrangement of satisfactory meals. The kitchen arrangement is not good. Most often the book is absent. Meals are not served in time. Moreover the vegetable are not cooked properly. Cleanliness in the hostel is not maintained. It is indeed a tragedy that heaps of rubbish lie here and there. Milk supplied to us is impure. Some outsiders are found making a row in the hostel. All these things prove that the arrangements in the hostel are beyond satisfaction o[censored]s all. I therefore request you to look into these complaints and take steps to redress our grievances at the earliest possible convenience. The owner has increased the fee to a great extent and charging unauthorized charges for the electricity... If the hostel members ask the owner, whether the hostel has been registered or not, they were telling that it is a pg. hostel... But it was not registered yet... I’m one of the hostel member only... We many of them were cheated by the owner, the hostel is not at all clean nowadays, no proper charges for electricity and room rents... So, please the authority for the hostel inspections have a look on to it and take a necessary action... As we girls are from different places apart from Chennai, we have no chance to complaint... please take action as quick as possible... the rent for per member was exceeding 6500 per month, that too in a shared room. No security at all. Taking gold and important things where we aren’t in room.
