Prestige — induction cooktop

Dear sir/madam,

I wish bring to your kind attention that i had purchased prestige induction cook top, model pic 2.0 v2 from your franchise dealer m/s manisha enterprises, alto-porvorim, goa on may 19, 2018. Same was hardly used by us. One day after cooking dal on it for around 20 minutes, it was switched off and kept it aside. After 2 hours we were shocked to notice that the top glass of said instrument got automatically shattered on july 20, 2018.

We then took it to prestige franchise in porvorim, goa m/s manisha enterprises. It was kept with them to initiate their further course of action. After 5 days we were told by them that they can’t do anything and we need to pay rs.1200/- to get glass changed. We were surprised and told them that said product was purchased from them just two months back and was well within warranty period but they washed out their hands and said its company’s look out to look into this. Our job is to sell their products.

I wish to ask a few questions to prestige.

1. Do you appoint such a useless franchisee who does not care to even look after customer’s complaint?

2. This product was purchased just 2 months back and was hardly used then how sudden top glass of said products gets shattered automatically.

3. From above i think prestige must be selling defective products to the customers under their discount schemes.

4. Is it not franchisee’s responsibility to provide “after sales service” to their clients?

We have been purchasing prestige products since last many years but never had gone through such worse experience. We have hence decided not to purchase any prestige products in future.

Since said product was purchased just two months back and was very well within its warranty period, request you to please replace it immediately with a new induction cook top failing which i will have left with no option but to lodge a complaint with goa consumer court which may kindly be noted.
