Hi, I booked the flight from Washington to Mumbai on Qatar Airways 3rd August 2024. returning back to Washington from Mumbai 5th September.
My experience with Qatar operations was horrible.
There were no communications of delays just kept on waiting at the airport. Boarding was expected to begin 8pm and there were no announcements of delays, All food restaurants at the airport began to close by 9pm. I was starving but did not go out as thought the flight was about to leave.When asked the Airport Desk Reps it was communicated 1 delay, it changed very hour, from 9 to 10, from 10pm to 11pm . 11:30 gate change and finally it was informed mignight that they will start boarding at 1:45am. I was going to miss my connection from DOHA TO MUMBAI. I was travelling to Mumbai to attend pray service for my brother who passed away at the age of 46yrs.
My back was in pain sitting at aimlessly no new, Flight was delayed more than 6hrs . It departed from IAD 3am. I had reached Airport 5:30pm. Just imagine time spent at the airport.
Then it was horrible at DOHA. The connection from DOHA to Mumbai was missed. Reached DOHA local time 10pm, was informed my Airport Qatar Reps that they will inform us about missed connection flights . My boarding pass and passport was taken and I was scared of loosing it. At first I was told there is 2am Indigo flight to Mumbai from Doha but it was all a mess at the airport. we were all passengers who missed connections were sitting at the transfer desks without our passports and clueless of next steps. My back was hurting bad and cell died due to low battery and i did not have universal connectors to charge to inform my family who was waiting at the airport to pick me . It took another 6 hrs at Doha Transfer desk to find solution and it was to fly out of DOHA the next business day. I got some hotel at 5am . I am very disappointed and do not want to fly my return journey on this ticket. But because one portion of this ticket is used I am not getting any support or further assistance. My family was worried for me as i had no communications to tell them where i was. I am suffering from low back pain injury, sat at DOHA transfer desk for more than 8 hrs to go to hotel and them fly from DOHA to Mumbai..This journey took 48hrs of travel time ..I missed the prayer service which was the main purpose too.
