I am a combatant member of the Indian Air Force since 03 August 1995 and presently serving at Air Headquarters, Vayu Bhavan with effect from 18 July 2011. I have already submitted an application form for my daughter for admission to Class I at KV Ernakulam, Kadavanthra, Kochi. It is the nearest KV from my house and my elder child also studies at this School. 2. When the first list of selected candidates for admission is published by the School, my child is placed at 24th position in the Waiting List and the number of transfers against my name has erroneously been shown as zero instead of one. In fact, in the last seven years, I have been transferred only once - i.e. from Trivandrum to New Delhi. 3. When I enquired about the same, the Principal told me that since I was not serving at Ernakulam, one transfer was reduced from the total number of transfers and thus I fell in the category of those people in Category-1 who have not proceeded on any transfer. As far as the information I collected, no other KVs in Ernakulam is following any such rule. 4. I am retiring on 31 August 2015 after 20 years of service. I have not been allotted with Govt accommodation at my duty station and my family is permanently staying at Ernakulam. My wife is also employed in State Govt Service. I had already attached the relevant certificates along with the application for admission of my daughter at this KV. 5. Crestfallen with the reply from the Principal, I submitted an application stating the above facts to the Chairman and District Collector, Ernakulam, on 23 March 2015 and subsequently he has asked for a report from the Dy Commissioner, KVS, Ernakulam region (copy attached). Sadly speaking, Additional Lists of selected candidates have been published since then and my child’s name was not reflected in any of the lists and I have to take admission for my daughter in KV No. 1, Katari Bagh, Ernakulam which is at a distance of 15 Kms from my house. 6. Other KVs in Ernakulam region had published a list of all the children applied for admission with their Category soon after the last date of submission of application, so that any anomaly can be rectified then and there. But KV Ernakulm, Kadavanthra, instead of doing that, published the list of all registered candidates along with lists of candidates provisionally selected for admission on the same day, on 16 March 15, without giving any chance for the parents like me to get the irregularity corrected therein. 7. It is very painful to say that after serving 20 years for the country selflessly devoting my young age and relocating frequently in the line of duty, and not getting admission for my daughter in the nearby KV and thereby leading a peaceful resettled life for want of some strange parameter and restrictions, it is a kind of belittling the Defence Services and my service to the Nation. If my daughter is admitted in any other school, it will totally affect the peaceful life of my family as my wife is employed and I will be on the lookout for one. My conviction that KV Sangathan will be very helpful for the Defence Serice Personnel who sacrifice their life for the sake of the country and its people, now lays in shatters. 8. It is my humble request to look into the matter and do a positive step by providing admission to my daughter in Std l in KV Ernakulam, Kadavanthra, Kochi dispensing all the unreasonable and illogical restrictions locally imposed by the ibid School. 9. I eagerly look forward to your sincere intervention in this issue. It will go a long way in building up a peaceful resettled life for me and my family.
