Ranthambore Safari 360 — Jungle Safari India-Malpractice of overbooking safaris leading to last minute cancellations and HUGE financial loss for customers

Address: Ranthambore, Rajasthan
Website: [email protected] (Jungle Safari India)

Hi, this is to bring to your notice the unethical practice of how safaris are being booked and managed at Ranthambore, Rajasthan, by Jungle Safari India ([protected]@gmail.com).

Issue - I booked 2 Jeep Safaris for Zones 1 to 5 i.e. Evening safari on 25th Dec 2021 and a Morning safari on 26th Dec 2021. I paid a total of 1850*2=3700 rupees for these 2 safaris. I got my booking confirmations and payment deducted in full on Dec 17th 2021. Thereafter, I also booked my hotel (at Ranthambore Mahal) for 2 nights ONLY BECAUSE I wanted to do these safaris. However, once I reached Ranthambore, on the day of the safari, I was told that they cannot honor the booking as they are all overbooked and not available anymore. This is not acceptable! I made a trip all the way from Hyderabad mainly for these safaris, AFTER receiving a booking confirmation and paying for them in full. On top of it, they also downgraded my booking to a Canter (from a Jeep safari) without my consent and forced me to take it even though that is not what I had booked for. I did not accept it and refused to take it. They still went ahead and converted my booking to a canter and charged me for it even though I did not use that service. They also canceled my second Jeep safari booking citing the same reason of everything being booked out. So basically my entire trip was rendered futile because of this.

Compensation due - I am writing this to let you know that this practice of overbooking ahead of time and cancelling after the customers land in Ranthambore is basically fraud. I am requesting you to look into this immediately and help provide me with due compensation that I am owed. Details of which are as follows: Full refund for the safari I did not avail i.e. Rs 1341, full refund for my 2 days stay at Ranthambore Mahal i.e. Rs 5500, train and commute charges to and fro to Ranthambore i.e. 4200 and punitive compensation for wasting my time, my holiday break (which I get once in a year) and for the stress they caused me during my vacation. In total, I believe I am owed atleast Rs 11000 (which I incurred directly because of their fraudulent booking system), in addition to any compensation I am owed as a result of the punitive payment on top of the compensatory payment. Looking forward to your help in addressing this issue so that this malpractice can be stopped immediately and no other unsuspecting customer(s) have to go through the same ordeal I was put through. Thank you for your help.
