[Resolved]  Haveli Rest. Murthal — Overcharging on MRP

Last Sunday i.e. 7th April,2013, I Along with my two friends visited Haveli Restaurant in Murthal, Sonipat, Haryana.
We Ordered our Food and were served the food with all normalcy. We also ordered a Bottle of Mineral Water as mentioned on the Menu.
None o[censored]s checked its price in Menu.
The Bottle came we had our food and enjoyed being treated well to the point of paying our bill.
the Bill arrived, We Paid the bill and the Tip(whatever we wished to). while the guy was brining the balance we cross checked the Bill to find the price of FOSTER'S Mineral Water charged at Rs. 29 and some odd paisas and service tax and VAT added to it.
we jokingly checked the MRP on the bottle which to our shock was an average Rs.20.

We felt cheated. Although the diffrence was just Rs. 13 compared to our bill amount of Rs. 920, but the point was being overcharged on MRP.

We asked the waiter to call Manager.
He(Manager named Suresh) came after making us wait for some time still not a problem for anyone o[censored]s.
we enquired about this overcharging and he bluntly showed us the menu card which quoted the bottle at Rs. 33.
We asked him about being charged over MRP to which he said there are service charges and taxes on MRP and they can surely overcharge above MRP. as we all stuck to our point he called up the General Manager Mr. Manjit.

The General Manager was rude from the word go he came over spoke to us in a rough tone tried raising his voice which was countered by our side too. this guy started misbehaving. but could not give us a valid reason for Rs. 33 charged.
We asked him whther he is aware as Overcharging over MRP is illegal to which he said our hotel's policy allows us.
We asked him to give us this in writing on letter head or provide us one more bottle of the same brand on the bill mentioning the Batch no. of bottle on the bill. he Directed one of the waiters standing nearby to bring mineral water in jug sans the bottle and the bill.
Wen we objcted to it He asked the waiter who was serving us whether we had paid the bill. the waiter confirmed in affirmative and the next moment he left our table shouting and letting out some derogatory words and asked to see him outside. in accordance with his General Manager the Manager or whatever he is Mr. Suresh ordered us to leave the table at once in a rude and insulting manner, Surrounded by all their staff and no one else to our side we got up and moved outside.

in the open area we again got into discussion with Mr. Manjit who was now a bit cooled as compared to inside, time and again he provoked us using expecetives and challenging us. nearby a Gentleman(who had finished his meal and paid his dues, and was waiting for his family to return from the restrooms i suppose) was listening to our conversation until mr. Manjit very Rudely asked him "Hanji kya dikkat hai aapko???, Yahan tamasha ho raha hai kya???, Kya kar raha hai yahan???" We all three were dumbstruck as to how a so called General Manager of Haveli Murthal who claim to be a Unit of Haveli Jalandhar(i hope they are proff. managed chain and not a Lala Company) behave in such a manner with a man of almost 45-50 years for just overhearing which was being loudly said.
The gentleman also complained the same thing as he too like everyone else was overcharged.

Then came the final assault.
Three Bouncers came up in Black Attire to the table we were having word with Mr. Manjit, they in a more Harsh and Rude tone asked us to get out of the premises. caught hold o[censored]s by our arms and the gentleman by his neck, as his Daughter and Wife looked on and started pleading mercy we were literally pushed out of the premises with the fear of being beaten up as all of them including the So-Called General Manager kept threatening bajao saalon ko. khatirdaari karo inki. B******h MRP dekhenge. abhi de te hain MRP.

and one of the bouncer said thappadein bajegin thappadein....
chalo abhi tumhe tumahre ghar pahunchate hain.....

Although we were not beaten up but this incident ensured a fear in our mind that night and till now that when we go to any such place even if we are overcharged we are bound to pay It With a SMILE and not to Question anyone....

just for a ref. we were seated at table 34 in Haveli ( which i would like to term as (Gundon ki Haveli, Murthal)
WHO KNOWS We might be Beaten up for being Right and Objecting something which is ILLEGAL....

Because this is INDIA and esp. Haryana....
