I went to visit vizag two days ago for a short tour of 4-5 days. I planned to book a scooty for rent from a bike rental named royal brothers. The day i took the vehicle from the centre i was crossing a junction named gurudwara junction and i didn't saw the red signal showing cause none of the vehicles were crossing over that time so i just got confused. Cause different cities having different arrangement of lanes and traffic signals, though the rules are same (Red : stop, yellow : wait, green : go). As a graduate student obviously i know about these rules but the cities i stayed or staying having some different arrangement of traffic lanes and signals. So i just crossed the junction and then realized that there can be a signal. But the time i realized the traffic went open and running towards me. So i just rode my scooty till the next junction and i stopped at the signal of the next junction, there a policeman caught me and took me aside. He told me that i broke the traffic rules by the rule "signal skipping and dangerous driving". Then the traffic police told me that you're hereby charged with 1035 rupees and then he told me that you have been charged with 300 rupees, then he simply told me to go without charging any penalty. But after two days when i went to the rental centre to return the scooty he showed me a pending fare of 1035 rupees. And honestly i didn't have that much of money left, cause i was leaving the city that day itself. But the rental person forced me to give that amount of money otherwise he will keep my dl. I had to borrow money from multiple persons like a beggar to pay that challan. There's no mercy for tourists in vishakhapatnum. As a tourist i should have been given a second chance. Cause the remaining to days i rode the scooty i didn't broke a single traffic signal and i didn't meant to do that also. Was this information helpful? |
