I have been holding various FDs with the Kalwa Branch out of which one Account expired in January 2015. I handed over the original receipt duly signed by myself and my wife to the Clerk at the counter two days before maturity for crediting the proceeds to my S/B A/c I was not given any acknowledgement but was promised that the amount will be credited to my account on the day of maturity. Since the amount was not credited even after the maturity date, I visited Branch again and was promised that they will look into the matter. To my surprise, when I checked the account ‘online’ I noticed that the said FD has been renewed contrary to my instructions, hence I visited Branch again and was promised that the new FD receipt will be sent to me by courier.
Since the receipt has not been received by me till date, I visited Branch yesterday and was asked to meet the Officer concerned who says that I will have to sign an Indemnity Bond on Rs 200 stamp paper.
why should I spend Rs 200 for the bank's fault? Was this information helpful? |
