I had booked a deluxe a/c double room at kumbakonam rly. Station from 26/01/2018 6 am to 28/01/2018 6 am through irctc website and paid a sum of rs.3638.20 towards the rent in advance for suite no.1.[ref.: pnr [protected]/kmurr 1001898] for myself and my wife both senior citizens. When we checked in at the office at the railway station, we were told that the toilet in the room was broken and that the room which we had booked could not be allotted to us and we were asked to occupy a non-a/c room in the 1st floor. As cancellation was not permitted, we were left with no alternative other than occupying the non-a/c room which was to say the least totally unsatisfactory. I had, on my return to chennai, asked the irctc and the railway administration through emails dated 29/01/2018, for refund of the difference in rent between a/c deluxe room and non-a/c room, but my request has not been complied with as of now. The service/facilities intended and paid for, were not provided and as such there was deficiency of service. Was this information helpful? |
